Update. NOA received today – May 21. It is dated May 17.

Wow - they're sending us NOA dated 1 month late :(  Depends on how you look at it :
1. We got 1 month extra extended on (1-year extension) :)

2. But our package reached in April - so folks who submitted packages in April and May will get around same priority as dates will be close-by :(

N-400 Application Timeline :

Application sent via mail - April 15th  (Field office Dallas, TX)

NOA Receipt date - April 17th

Biometrics receipt - April 22th (appointment scheduled for May 14th)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Interview scheduled notification - November 12th (via email - waiting to receive letter in mail for actual Interview date)

Interview completed & Case approved - November 17th

Naturalization Ceremony (in January 2020 - waiting on notice)

They can give you a stamp without NOA? How?

Like Ash.1101 said, it depends on the immigration office. Sometimes you have to show a lot of evidence that you filed, and sometimes you don't. Fortunately, in our case all they wanted to see was the expired green card and passport.

Some one please correct me if i'm wrong, but my understanding is the 1 year extension is from when your GC expires not necessarily 1 year from when your NOA is dated. So if your GC expired on April 22, 2018, then the 1 year extension is until April 22, 2019.  in the case of my husband, his GC expires on July 4, 2018 so the 1 year extension is until July 4th 2019.

I think there was an immigration lawyer on this forum, not sure if he/she would know.

It's a pain because you have to wait for a callback, but a Tier 2 Officer can check the status using your A-number.

Thanks. I will remember to check with Tier 2  officer if I have to in the future... btw does this "biometrics waived" thing expedite/slow the approval process in any way?  Or is it irrelevant?  TIA

I submitted my package on March 31, according to tracking it's been delivered yesterday. Now it's time to wait...

Just noticed that CSC is using your old biometrics. I got the same letter with a notice date of 05/05/2018. Hope we don't run into any hiccups with this...
