OK as you've mentioned that your driver license is going to expire very soon, why not just go over to the DMV and ask for renewal. I'm sure the DMV will understand that you trying to have a valid DL and not waiting or wanting to diver with expired one. I'd recommend that you at least try to g to DMV and renew it with your GC still valid.

How early can I renew my TN drivers license?
Your Tennessee driver's license expires on your birthday every 8 years. 8 to 10 weeks before your expiration date, the Tennessee DMV will mail you a renewal notice that will indicate if you can renew: Online. By mail.

https://www.dmv.org/tn-tennessee/renew-license.php

I hope this will help.  Good Luck!

Yes, I agree with you on the fact that they should extend my DL as I have a valid green card. But I had received a renewal notice from their office two months ago station that the DL would need to be renewed with proof of residency in hand.

Here's the excerpt from the notice letter

"If you currently hold a Temporary Driver License (TDL) or Temporary Identification License (TID) you will be required to appear in person at a driver services center to process your renewal. You must provide updated documentation proving your current legal presence and length of authorized stay in the USA at the time of your renewal. Two documents proving your current Tennessee residence address will also be required at renewal."

I happened to see a local cop stop by the gas station (for his usual supply of Donuts) and I had asked him this question. He had given me the same answer as the information on the renewal notice, and so unfortunately they have rules to follow and I shall try my luck with the DMV today.

I'm not sure if I will get anywhere with it but I shall try nevertheless.

I shall post an update once I am done. Thank you for your comments and I do appreciate your help.

I-751 mail to CSC

mailed on: 04/07

received by CSC: 04/09

GC expired on 04/17

No NOA or check cashed as of 05/17. I called USCIS 3 times and emailed them twice, they all told me to wait until the 45 day mark.

I spoke to two immigration lawyers and everyone is telling me something different. The fact that I see posts like this helps out, knowing I'm not the only one in this mess.

if anyone hears anything from lawyers or USCIS about the backlog would love to hear about it here!

So now they are saying 45 days? They told other ppl to wait until 60 days have passed... If USCIS would only be consistent for once... 😡

Hello everyone, I just sent I-751 with a signature request from them when they get the package. I was wonder if somebody else sent it like this? I'm worried now that nobody is going to sign because it is a P.O.Box address and the package will return to me. Thank you for your answers.

If  you want receipt of delivery with a name/signature you’ll need to mail it courier like fedex.

i sent mine through Fedex. Person with the last name of Moya signed for it.

FedEx would not mail it since it was to a PO Box - not sure how you managed that.  But - glad it worked for you.  I sent USPS but didn't do signature as most places with a PO box don't have a manned box in order to sign it.

I don't know if my eyes were blind or what at the time, but I could've sworn that only a PO Box address was listed for CSC when I was mailing our packet. I see now it has a non PO Box address listed too. I was wondering how people were sending it via FedEx since FedEx doesn't deliver to PO Box. I would've sent it FedEx to CSC if I saw that instead of USPS priorty to the PO Box.

I don't think they have a good process or robust system, if i worked there and had a petition under my responsibility that determines a couples whole life and affects their destiny I don't think I would sleep well at night until I at least tell them the petition was accepted or not.. but instead we are getting all kinds of answers about such a serious matter like this, it's just outrageous.

We all paid paid thousands of $$ and waited god knows how long to get to this point, and now we risk it all simply because they are backlogged or they lost the petition or who knows what happened, and they can't even tell you 😡
