OMFG. I'm so furious right now. My GC is expired and I had quit my old job. If this take more than a week from now to get CSC rolling, I will almost certainly lose my new job offer. 60 days is beyond acceptable. This is a simple clerical task that they can get done if they put their mind to it.

I'm so disappointed in myself for not filing with 90 days to spare. So ***** frustrated.

Did you do an infopass?

Thank you. Didn't know that was possible. GC is expired now. :(

If I were you, I will try to do 2 things.

1/ Go to SSN office to see if they can do that with expired GC.

2/ Make infopass to local office to see if they can issue a STAMP.

Hindsight's 20/20. I could have filed March 28, and I'm kicking myself for not doing it right then. Never expected that 12 days would lead to a 60 day+ delay. Would have been nice to not been caught up in this mess. Sorry about your job situation. Any way you can explain it to your new employers? My employers were very accommodating when I was transferring from my OPT to my 2-year GC. Maybe ask how you can prepare in the meantime, materials to read relating to the job..etc.. When were you supposed to start? I'd also suggest calling USCIS and trying to get your case expedited. Although, the fact that they probably have a room of unopened boxes, I'm not sure how they would even go about finding yours. Worth a try I suppose. Cite financial hardship..etc.. and all the works.

I have an infopass appointment scheduled for Friday. The SSN option is not one I'd considered. I will try to do it tomorrow. Thanks for you advice. Much appreciated!

They can consult their own lawyer. You filed in time. You are a permanent resident, and you continue to be one unless USCIS revokes it. The Green Card is a proof of PR, not the actual PR in the system

Which then leads to the question of...

How long is it until USCIS tries to revoke statuses because they think that people haven't sent their application in?

If someone sends their application in and it makes it to them on day 89 out of 90, and then it takes 60-90 days for USCIS to even put their application in the system, is it possible that USCIS could also start the removal processes because they think that person didn't apply?

More or less curious on how fast they go after people who haven't done their I-751.

Hi PKR, it's not a requirement, although I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

Does anyone know how soon will the biometric letter come for Vermont filers? I received my NOA on 5/12. Also when I put in my case number on my NOA the USCIS website said they can't find anything related to this number in the system, is this normal at early stage?
