@Foreign Fantasy, I remember you during the CR1 process! hard to believe 2 years have flown by and it's time to go through the waiting game again.

@LinJoe Heyyy! Yep, time to wait again, at least this time not alone. Seems like this process will take even longer, and I regret not submitting my application at the beginning of the 90 period now. We got busy and it slipped our minds :/.

Hows your wait time?

Guys - you're freaking out for nothing. When CSC sends NOA to you - it'll have dates when package was received by CSC (may next biz day). Just keep continue working - don't bother approaching your HR department as HR department are not aware of all rules by USCIS. They'll only ask you to stop coming to work until they figure it out or you provide docs.

YOU ARE CORRECT!   Attorney also said the same like you can continue work, no need to stop. Thank You!

I recently submitted I-751 package to California center like 3 weeks ago and service center is very slow as you all know
My 2 yrs green card expiring in 1-2 weeks, and not received receipt number or no check cashed by CSC. On my SSN i have "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH dhs AUTHORIZATION". is it okay to work since nothing get back about I-751 application and is it matter what i have on SSN for the current situation?

Were you on a work visa prior to your CR1 green card?

It’s been a while since we’ve had an noa

Does it actually show the date they received it? I always thought to showed the date THEY finally got to it.

And yea I would really prefer if my husband worked, I can only cover 90% of the bills myself. We’re doing well, but because we both work.

just to clarify - HR would NOT have asked you to stop working until they figured it out. I've been working in HR for longer than i can remember now and specifically working with GC/work visas for the last several and I have NEVER asked any of my employees to stop working because I didn't know the answer. that's why we (HR) work closely with the company's immigration attorney. As long as your GC was valid at the time of hire, they are not going to ask you to stop working. your permanent resident status isn't revoked because you're going through this ROC process.

My green card expired yesterday, she confirmed that I cannot continue working until I have the NOA.

Wow that sucks. Not all jobs are that flexible.. I've heard people mentioned that as long as your SS does not have the "authorized to work from DHS" that it should be fine to work?

In my current job. I also still have the restriction on my social security card as I never thought to get it removed.

I'm currently trying to get hold of a lawyer.

don't trust what a USCIS agent tells you. They are not all trained properly. during the CR1 process, i had to quote their own rules back to them as they kept asking for a police certificate that i didn't need to provide. I had to send it to supervisor review and that supervisor agreed with me and wasn't sure why the agent kept telling me that.

Always check with an immigration attorney when you need something validated. they work on this stuff all day everyday so they know better. this forum can only provide guidance based on our own experience and conversations with immigration attorneys.

With the amount of varying information that people get here from the USCIS agents, I can't help but agree. No harm done getting a second opinion.. or a third, or a fourth, heh. I'm so glad for this forum. Kudos to whoever started it!

Other than the biometric, I don't expect to hear anything until October 2019 at the earliest.

Same here - My package reached 7 days later my 90-days window started. Glad - I hired attorney else it would've taken lots of research and delay  considering our busy schedules.

If any one has been successful in getting an I-551 stamp on their passport at a local USCIS field office PRIOR to getting the initial NOA, please do let us know.

It looks like the CSC is going to take a lot longer than 30 days to process the pending applications. For those whose green cards have expired/are nearing expiration, getting a stamp on their passports would be invaluable!

I just got back from Los Angeles Field office. We went last Wednesday before their internal memo came out. Tried again today but they won’t do anything without receipt number. I even mentioned that someone in Ohio posted that they got a stamp without a receipt number. Maybe this was an employee that was unaware of policies. Any who, they know it is delayed but won’t help without the receipt number.
