Sorry for the late update. I called USCIS last Friday. I filed with CSC on 4/10/2018.

The whole process went smoothly, and the girl on the line was very nice. She transferred me over to Tier 2 without my asking. I told the T2 officer that I filed my application a month ago, and have not have my check cashed nor a NOA receipt. He said they've been getting a lot of calls from applicants, but were only just given confirmation the day before (Thursday, 5/10/18) that the waiting time for NOA receipts is now a 60-day wait limit (as opposed to the current 30 days). He said not to worry, and that it does not necessarily mean that the application was rejected or lost. They are backed up and the whole process, in turn, is taking a longer time, even for receipts. He said at this point it's best to wait it out, and to call again once the 60 day limit has been reached if the check still hasn't been cashed/NOA not sent.

At this point, it seems like there isn't too much else to do but wait, unfortunately. VSC seems to have finally gotten a head-start with processing the April applications, and we can only hope that CSC does the same soon.  I'm not sure about the legality of status if your green card's expired. I would have asked but he called me back when I was driving, and I felt bad shouting into the speaker, and in all honestly, I'm not even sure if they would know..

What about getting a stamp on the passport?

Posted

Agreeing about the passport stamp.

If they know that the normal waiting time is 60 days, and your window is only 90 days, then unless you apply within the first 30 days of the window (which is recommended, but doesn't always happen), then you're going to be sitting around with no proof of legal status.

To those who received the biometric waiver, did you notice that the WAC number is the same as the NOA-1 which still uscis website does not recognize as a valid case number?!

Yes mine is recognized on the new website but it hasn't been updated to reflect the biometric waiver letter so far...

Just updating, I got my NOA on Friday!!!! yey

Posted

I just spoke to a tier 2 representative and they told me CSC had a massive backlog and hadn't even started processing anything from "mid April". My green card expired yesterday, she confirmed that I cannot continue working until I have the NOA. She also said infopass offices are not issuing passport stamps based on the delay.

Guess I'll just be sitting around waiting... At least I know my house will be sparkling clean with all this free time I'm going to have!! 😂😭

What? Sounds nonsensical. Why couldn't you continue working? Are you looking for a job, or are you saying you cannot continue in your current job?

In my current job. I also still have the restriction on my social security card as I never thought to get it removed.

I'm currently trying to get hold of a lawyer.

I recently submitted I-751 package to California center like 3 weeks ago and service center is very slow as you all know
My 2 yrs green card expiring in 1-2 weeks, and not received receipt number or no check cashed by CSC. On my SSN i have "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH dhs AUTHORIZATION". is it okay to work since nothing get back about I-751 application and is it matter what i have on SSN for the current situation?

Guys - you're freaking out for nothing. When CSC sends NOA to you - it'll have dates when package was received by CSC (may next biz day). Just keep continue working - don't bother approaching your HR department as HR department are not aware of all rules by USCIS. They'll only ask you to stop coming to work until they figure it out or you provide docs.

Yes, a lawyer would help. Because I am pretty sure that what she told you is inaccurate. Restriction or not.
