But according to Lagringa's experience, they were able to get a temporary card issued because apparently notice went out to all local field offices (on the 9th f May or so) that there is a delay in processing application and that no applications filed after April 6th has been entered in to the system. This seems like a remedial action they are taking on their part. I am definitely going to the SF field office on Monday morning with all the documents I have on me along with a couple of passport size photos.

You seem skeptical (understandably). Is it because your lawyer said there is no way that this can happen?

Hi All

Can you please let me know where I can find the USCIS  online account number that needs to be updated in the form

Whenever you create an account online with USCSI.gov, go to profile, your USCIS account online should be there. However, that is not nessacary for any kinds of forms.

Oh yes, it is not necessary. So it is okay to leave it blank.

Finally I have time to post an update!

We received our NOA1 05/10 after filing it on 04/12.

I know it’s not the end yet but quite comforting. Best of luck everyone!

Was it the Vermont center? When did they cash the check?

I think this is from another website track it. I think its LA office. I did speak to my lawyer today -

  1. she said you can refile if you want, but its not necessary. USCIS will probably take your money twice and cancel your second application thats it.
  2. Also if you make an infopass and if they can't see anything in the system then they will NOT give you a stamp in your passport by just looking at your fedex receipt. Also in some cities, USCIS is giving stamps of only 6 months.

Thought I would share in this forum. Her recommendation was to wait. There is really nothing that we can do.

Cool. Please do let us know what you find. If it’s truly something USCIS is doing then I would get a stamp too!!

Much like every other aspect of immigration, a lot of this has to do with the person you're talking to at an infopass and the person who runs the center.

6 months really should be all anyone needs to get the NOA extension letter.

I very much agree though that sending twice will result in taking the money twice. The first thing they do is run the check, scan the papers, add a case number, and then put it all away until adjudication time.
