Hi all, found this forum yesterday and am glad but also frustrated to see others in the same boat. Mailed April 11th, received April 12th by CSC and nothing further. Spoke to two different tier 1 agents last week, one who told me my case was open but couldn't tell me anything more. The second agent I spoke to, I asked whether I was able to continue working whilst waiting for the NOA and was told no. My GC expires on Sunday which means I'll be on unpaid leave. Additionally, I live in at at-will employment state and the company I work for has been known to pink slip people for lesser things than having an expired GC...

I think,  we should be good to work as we sent I-751 Package on time. But need to make sure with Attorney. If we should not work with experienced Green card and no NOA1 then many of us will be in mess i guess without pay. we need to make sure on this.

Well you can work. Ask any lawyer. If there’s no restriction written on your social security card you are good to work. All the best. And don’t worry.

Exactly - our SSN allows us to work without any condition. Also, when I received Conditional green card - I submitted it to my employer as part of I-9 verification. There is rule which suggests if green card (permanent or conditional) was part of I-9 form document as proof - there is no further need to re-verify I-9 form.

Receipt from USPS of I-751 package delivery will be enough proof that you did your due diligence by sending application which was confirmed as received by USCIS. By now, it is well established that H1-B apps at start of April caused this delay I'm sure we all should receive NOA by end of May.

N-400 Application Timeline :

Application sent via mail - April 15th  (Field office Dallas, TX)

NOA Receipt date - April 17th

Biometrics receipt - April 22th (appointment scheduled for May 14th)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Biometrics completed - May 7th (Early Walk-in)

Interview scheduled notification - November 12th (via email - waiting to receive letter in mail for actual Interview date)

Interview completed & Case approved - November 17th

Naturalization Ceremony (in January 2020 - waiting on notice)

Hi All,

I guess Sharin and Nid12 are correct about the work continuity. Furthermore, i checked the status of April 2017 filers and i guess this happens every year for April and May Filers. I noticed that the NOAs and checks are cashed later but the Receipt date is usually the day after USCIS received the package.

I hopt this information helps.

What exactly is the receipt date? Also, do you know when the early April filers got their NOAs in 2017?

Thanks for the insights!

My social security card still has the restriction on it, I never thought to get it removed :/

The receipt date is the date when the NOA was issued. What i saw in April 2017 filers was that the package was delivered lets say on April 8th, folks got the checks cashed and NOA delivered  in May but the Notice was dated April 9th..

i hope this hypothetical example helps in clarification.

Thanks for the insights!

I parsed through the April 2017 filers posts, and found their spreadsheet - here it is

The receipt date is the date a USCIS facility received the package. If you sent to a PO Box, USCIS receipt is the day afterwards because the mail is collected from the PO Box in the AM before new mail comes in.
