This is what LinJoe said:

Hey guys...I just called my pre-paid legal service and spoke with an immigration attorney. He's the same one that helped guide me through the I-130 and CR1 process. (i filed everything on my own without an attorney but the pre-paid legal service helped answer my questions i had along the way).

Here's what I learned:

He said the beginning of April there was an influx of H1B's that were filed to the California and Vermont service centers so he was not surprised that we have not received any NOA yet or our checks being cashed. He said about 250,000 H1B's were filed so the service centers may be behind more than usual because of that.  I feel a little better knowing this possible reason for the delay and not that it's just might be missing.

He told me to wait a couple of more weeks before freaking out. If i don't receive my NOA by the end of May then to call him back and he will guide me through putting in an inquiry to get the receipt number and complain about not receiving our NOA. He said he would not advise re-sending the application package. I know some of you are on a tighter deadline than I am. My husband will be at the 2 year mark on July 4th. Good luck to us all.

I sent an email to both lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov and csc-ncsc-followup@uscis.dhs.gov. Both auto replies said it will take them up to 15 business days to respond. I will let you all know if I hear anything back form ether one

Hello everybody,

I called again today as soon as 8.00 AM hit here in California, the representative connected me right away with a Tier 2 officer without blinking twice. Got a call back after 35 minutes of pacing back and forth and the officer told me something completely different from what I was told yesterday by the annoyed representative. I wish they just agreed on their replies instead of giving a different answer to every one of us.

Like yesterday my application was NOT in the system, but differently from many answers you guys got he asked me for the tracking number of my package and checked (I suppose USPS website???), confirming (AH!) that my packaged was received on April 10th, although there's no sign of my application anywhere. He then asked me for my email address (which I repeated 15 thousand times to make sure there were no mistakes, I felt so dumb) and said he would email CSC to prompt them to expedite the case. He told me to make sure to check my email daily and that I would receive an email from CSC in the next 5 business days.

After this I mentioned him that my GC is about to expire in 3 days and asked him if this would be a problem (as in: "oh, you submitted a late application"). Guess what, completely different answer than the one given to me yesterday by the "nice" representative: "as long as you have your receipt and tracking number you are good to go, hold on to that one tightly, because I can see it was received", these were his words.

So people, hold on tight on your USPS receipts especially if your green cards are about to expire! I don't know if I feel better right now, just confused about all these different answers, but I suppose a Tier 2 officer "reply" is better than an angry/annoyed representative's? I am here crossing my fingers and trying to calm down my anxiety. And instead of repeatedly checking my bank account, now, I will keep my eyes on my email. I hope they will actually send one.

I read from someone's the "45 days delay" answer and "should have applied 90 days earlier".

E.X.C.U.S.E. M.E.??? When I received the letter from USCIS in February saying that I had a 90 days window prior to the expiration of my GC to apply, I wasn't told "by the way, try to apply as soon as the window open because we have a delay". If they had notified it to me I would have changed my plans and done it!!!  :ranting::ranting:

What kind of answer is that? Are they trained to freak people out on purpose???

Wow. This sounds lucky. I just spoke to Tier 2 officer. They said that, once 45 days passes since the time I sent the package, I should send an enquiry to the lockbox email.

So many different responses. Ridiculous. Also, 45 days is a long time. The person above mentioned that she received an auto-response saying that there's a 15 day timeframe for responses to inquiries. 60 days (2 months) just to  maybe get an answer on our status is pathetic, really. If things are backed up according to LinJoe's post, I don't understand why they cannot just say so, or expedite requests for those whose GC are expiring soon, or for any other circumstance, as opposed to "No idea, ask the next person".

I wanted to add that the tier 2 person told us to email the lockbox. We gave him the address which we sent it to, the laguna niguel P.O. box. And he said yes that’s the lockbox.

It is not the lockbox but directly sent to service center. The lockbox emailed back telling us they don’t handle packages sent to the address we used.

The amount of wrong info from these employees really is frustrating.

Looks like that is user @Alcione who sent application to VSC. Glad at least VSC is moving again...fingers crossed CSC kicks in to high gear soon.

Are you at VSC or CSC? Your entry in the google doc shows CSC, but your note here says VSC...

YEAH, google docs even hard to access like redirecting to somewhere else from there, can we have that info here so it won't have access issues or newbies have to wonder for the link/all needs to keep the track of the link all the time separately. It would be really helpful if we update here
