I feel the same. I was eligible to apply on March 20th but completely forgot about it. And at the time of mailing they said it will be delivered on 5th April but got delayed to 7th April 😂. Now I always regret not filing a little earlier. A few days early might have helped 🤨

I just spoke to the uscis tier 2 officer. She mentioned that this is most likely big loads of work that causing delay on I-797

It's been over a month i waited for Notice of action but my cashier's check still has not chased out yet.

Officer told me wait out another 2 more weeks. If i don't get notice by that time, i most likely have to resend the application.

And for those whose green card is about to be expired, it is fine as long as i-751 is submitted within 90 days before expiration date.

She said that we are not out of status while we are on waiting, its just that we don't have something to show off until we get i-797 with 1 year automatic extension.

So, hold on tight guys. We almost there.

I'm sorry, wait, what? She said that if you don't get your notice in 2 weeks, that you would have to resend the application?

That would be indeed ###### ridiculous (mind my language). Then they would have to spend more time sifting through old and new paperwork to avoid duplicates, on top of what they already have.

I wish they would be trained to tell us why it is taking so long instead of worrying us further by stating we might need to resend...

then u may have to resend new applications

Thanks maestro, I just don't quite understand the logic of it. Resending applications will only clog up the process more, and what do they supposedly do with the older applications that are past due? Throw them? Sigh.

I'm just speculating, but I'm genuinely wondering if it's due to the current administration focusing more on undocumented immigrants and deportation(out), and less so on visa applications (in). I wouldn't be surprised if it all falls under the same branch.

Very possible. However, why would it suddenly be like this from the month of April? Eveything went smoothly up until the end of March. And this new administration has been in office for over a year now. My point is that they should at least keep everyone in the loop, instead of having representatives only coming up with "wait...and after waiting if nothing, just resend". Really?

That is true. I thought that maybe it could have been a build up of events as they've been getting slower with time, and April being the breaking point? Maybe, but we won't know, because they're not telling us anyway! And yeah, the "wait, and if nothing resend" was infuriating to read! Do they genuinely want us to do that, or was it just an answer to get us off their backs?

I don't get this. My GC expires at the end of this week. So if they don't cash my check by friday it's my responsibility although I sent my papers a month ago? How can I reapply after two weeks if my GC expires? I can't believe it.
