I-751 April 2018 Filers

Hi guys, just replying to this thread as I appear to be in the same boat and sort of glad that I'm not alone here. We sent our I-751 to VSC on April 10 by UPS and tracking shows that it was received on April 13. I just checked my bank account and my personal check still hasn't been cashed. It is a bit disheartening as we have a friend that filed I-751 to VSC in March, and she says the check was cashed 3 days after receipt...  We don't have any travel plans, but I am getting nervous because my wife's GC expires on May 23.

She should get an appoinment for an infopass and the stamp in her passport.

I was justthinking about this very uncommon delay at the SCs. That one woman from the may filers said she went to an infopass appoinment and the officer told her that they are really, really backed up at the moment and even sending out 2year extension letters to the people. Maybe the delay is because they are transfering now from 1 year extension letters to two year extension letters... just a thought....

Where can I make an appointment for an infopass? My GC is expired on the 7th. My package was received on April 16th but nothing has happened since

I don't think that any of the March fillers are still waiting for their letters (maybe just a few special cases). You should call USCIS to make sure they didn't misplace your package. It hapenned to a March filler. It has been much longer than the 30 days they state it can take to receive your NOA.

My mistake I meant April 16 not March.. I just edited it! Thanks for letting me know 😉

Typically, you should be OK to travel domestically with a valid passport. TSA mostly just wants to verify identity on domestic travel. Your license should be fine since it is still valid. I would use both to prove your identity. TSA should not be worried about verifying residency for domestic travel.

Should I be looking into an infopass appointment? I see a lot of mention of it here for people who's GC's expire soon and considering mine expired April 22, it would probably be a good idea?

I'm going to follow this thread. My husbands GC Expires on June 27th, and obviously we don't want him not having a job when his GC expires.

We're mailing out ROC this week with AMPLE proof, so I'm wondering if I track the package, and it clearly makes it to USCIS, Can we make an info pass appointment and get a I-551 stamp in his passport to have until the NOA/Extension letter comes?

I'd rather jump ahead on this then wait, ESPECIALLY since nothings really moved since the second week of April.

Here is a tip for everyone.

 

1. Go renew your driving License BEFORE your GC expired.. renewed my DL with 2 months remaining on my GC no issues and they did NOT ask for the NOA ( although I had it just in case). DL was renewed for 5 years.

 

2. if you haven't(which was my case until last week),  go to the SSN and ask them remove "only authorized to remove with DHS approval" by presenting your GC. No questions asked.

Guys i’m here like y’all. My packet was received April 25th. No news. Check not cashed. So intense!!! Hope some tiny hope is about to come like cashing the check that would make me believe the packet is there. Wishing all the best for us all. :-)

We sent ours in on April 28th by USPS Priority Mail to Laguna Niguel, CA. It was received on April 30, 2018.  Only thing I forgot to write on the mailing address was "Attention: I-751.  Do you think it's a problem?  The check has not been cashed yet.

Scroll through these posts and look at the google doc...some of us have been waiting since april 6th...
