Hi All,

I really wish I had joined this group earlier. I also wish I sent out my package 1 week earlier -- I sent it out on 4/7, they received on 4/9. No NOA. Check not cashed. Neither did I saw the filling tips -- I used a binder, and highlighted all the important names and date on my evidence. I struggled about whether to fill again, or wait for a response from USCIS first. But after reading all the posts, I decided to wait. There's no need to worry that much right now since they aren't even touching our applications.

One question -- My GC expires on 6/15/2018. If I haven't gotten a NOA by then, looks like I need to go get an info pass stamp. Is the info pass stamp valid for work permit? Can I leave the country and re-enter with an expired GC and passport with info pass?

Hi doubt that they will stamp your pp without NOA or Case #. However, if you have a stamp, it is good for you to work and travel during the stamped duration. Just keep in mind, if you travel out of the country for more than 6 months, apply for re-entry permit while you are in the States.

So what do I if I didn't get the NOA before my GC expires? Do I have to stop working? I see may people are facing this problem right now. Anyone has figured out what to do?

My GC expired on 4/26. And I started working on 4/23. Here everyone suggest don’t tell HR. But I informed her. And she said as long as it’s not expired on the day you start working it is fine. She will check with me in every few weeks just to check with my NOA or new GC. So chill . Continue working.

1/ It depends on how your SSN looks like. If you have removed the line "Working under DHS authorization" then you should be fine.

2/ If your SSN has not been removed the wording, your HR person might contact you for updated documents. That is when you need to submit your NOA, I551 stamp, or new work permit. Remember, not all authorized working person has the same statuses.

No. Only if your GC expires before you get the NOA or if the one year extension letter (NOA) runs out...

My husband's GC expired 4/23 - ROC was delivered to VSC on 4/13.

Should we try to get an infopass stamp?

Oh . That's not good. I didn't know we were supposed to remove that. My GC expires in June, so I still have time. Can I apply for the removal right now?

Thank you Archie. How do we ask to get that statement removed from our SS cards? Should we quote anything official in case they refuse to do it? As I hear some SS workers don't really know the rights of permanent citizens.
