Does any VSC filer have good news to share? Is transferring to local office the step before they approve?

My case was transfered from VSC to Potomac VA and I live in New York city. So you are saying it will be scheduled for interview??

No, in your case that is a transfer to a different service center for "workload balancing". Seems like this has happened to a number of I-751's in the last month or so. Usually it's good news -- it means USCIS has realized that they're falling behind and is shifting the work around so that everyone's cases get processed faster.

Of course it will still be up to the officer reviewing your case at the new service center whether or not you need an interview, and if you do, it would at that point be transferred to the NYC local office.

Congrats!! Did you receive any updates on N400 before the approval? Do you fee that application expedited your approval in any way? I know this is purely random how they are approving the I751, but I am getting my N400 ready and trying to decide if I should wait a few more days to submit it... My dates are almost identical as yours, am eligible to apply for N400 since 03/30. Was transferred to Nebraska on 03/05.

Vermont April filer here, filed April 27th 2018 was received may 3rd. NOA May 18, bio June 26. Old site remained on case status till yesterday when it changed to New card is being produced. New site still says fingerprint completed. As far as I know I wasn't transferred, this forum  helped me keep my sanity while waiting though I've been a silent observer. Thank you all so much.

Hi, I know you didn't ask me directly but I also had a similar timeline so thought I would share my experience.

Our NOA1 was 4/6/18 at CSC.  Husband completed N-400 on 2/26/19 online. On 3/5/19 we got notice that the I-751 was transferred to Nebraska. I don't think this was connected to the N-400 as it seems there was a large batch transferred on the same day. In the meantime, he got a notice for biometrics for the N-400 which was done on 3/18/19.

I heard that when cases are transferred, some action is supposed to be taken within 60 days. On 5/1/19, we got notice of new card being produced for the I-751 which was close to the 60th day from transfer. Now he is waiting for his N-400 interview to be scheduled.

In our case, I do not think the I-751 was affected at all by the N-400 filing. It seems like it would have processed the same either way. It also does not seem that the pending I-751 delayed the start of the N-400 processing.

Hope that helps you a little bit. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hello everyone!

Today I did the same, I checked the new site and still no updates, the last update I got was from May 23, 2018 telling me they’ve mailed me an updated notice. I started seeing approvals lately so I decided to check the old site. The status changed from “can’t provide update on this site” to “card being produced”. I was wondering if the money came out of your bank account yet? I haven’t seen a withdrawal from USCIS yet.

Thank you for that info. Glad to hear your husband's progress. I just wish your statement "when cases are transferred, some action is supposed to be taken within 60 days." was true. My case was transferred to Neb on 03/05. Nothing since, so I am almost to that 60 day mark.... though i doubt USCIS really goes by any norm/rule/timeline. They just do things when/how they want to.  Anyways I have decided to file my N400 by Sunday.

CSC with transfer to a local office

So you were transferred to your local office? Did you ever get interview notice OR any mail telling your case is in the local office? I called uscis yesterday and they told me my case is in National Benefit Center (NBC) right now. Online (new site) shows received at local office. So far, haven't received anything in the mail yet? April 9th filer.
