Hi everyone,

I need your advice on something. My wife and I recently moved to a new house. I updated the address online using the tool provided by the USCIS. Should I submit additional evidence to prove that we still live together? Thank you.

How did you updated the address? I tried doing it online and I got a "form error" I am on hold waiting for a USCIS rep right now

You don't need to submit anything right now just for moving. My husband and I bought a house last month and we updated the address online and that was it. We got an acknowledgement email and the letter in the mail saying it's been processed.

If they need additional information then they will send an RFE....which would be for the overal I-751 process not specifically for your move.

Thank you for your advice. I'm afraid if they request an RFE, the processing time will be extended longer. I was thinking if I submit additional evidence now I can avoid the REF request from them. But I guess it's not always true becuase, as you said, the REF is for the overall process not just for the change of address. Thanks again.

April 2018 filer from California here.

I got a notice that an RFE is on the way. Anyone else got an RFE?

I submitted so much evidence already. Overwhelming amounts of evidence.

What date did you submit? Fingerprint and transfer to any center yet? Nothing for me, except transferred to local office at 4/12 notification, but haven't received any mail yet. I wonder how long it takes them to send me mail.

Yes. they want to be sure any correspondence, including your Green Card, is mailed to the correct address. I'm sure there are more reasons than that, but you should inform them of your address change.

I'm not sure, but if it's taking longer for you to get their mail because it has to get forwarded or it's lost, then it will delay. it really doesn't take very long. it took us 2 minutes to update it online. it's mostly a drop down form that you can pick what you're wanting to do and then type in your new address. literally 1-2 minutes. Why take the chance to delay.....

I do have the letter already mailed to me about the transfer to Texas.

Il be moving to a new state (from NJ- MD) soon. Maybe its safer to update my MD address then..What say?

Will this change in address affect my application in any way?
