Will the DMV let you renew your drivers license with the extension letter?

The dmv should renew it with a letter, but you never know. Some people never get the memo or were sick that day. I just know i had issues getting my license during AOS, i took my NOA as proof that i was adjusting status, they wouldn't accept it, i had to wait for the actual EAD or GC. I'm hoping this doesn't happen again because now i have a job that i need to get to.

Hey all!

I really hate the wait game...

After our petition got returned once we resent it and CA service center received it on April 11th. Not a peep since then and the checks haven't been cashed either 😔

Are they backed up or something?

Exactly! I'm pretty sure we'll receive the NOA by then so I wouldn't worry too much if you guys won't be gone too long! My main worry was having to come back for the Biometrics (which usually occurs 2-3 months after NOA, but I just found out you might be able to walk in..?) as we'll be gone for 3 months.

If you're taking about Mike2hot2hold, I was thinking about that. I was wondering if it was maybe a mistake, like he was confused about what the headings mean.  I think it's possible to have your NOA dated the same day your package was accepted, but yeah. Either a troll or an honest mistake. Let's hope it's the latter.

I checked the waiting time for all those who filed in April last year (2017), their average time waiting for NOA was 20 days! with some individuals that had to wait 32 days (VSC). I know it is different year but that makes me feel better about how long we have been waiting. Maybe it is just this time of the year they are busier.  I hope we get some good news soon.

From the google doc, looks like some people are getting really close to the 30 day limit specified in this document.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/F1en.pdf

Did anyone try to calling the USCIS service centers to check what is happening? This wait for the NOA and checks getting cashed is very frustrating.:(.  My application reached on April 12th, so thinking of waiting for a week before I call.

Hi everyone!

I sent in my ROC petition on March 30th to the California service center, went to Mexico from April 3rd to the 9th and came back to my package being returned because I forgot to add a copy of my GC. Sent it all again on April 10th and have not heard anything. I called USCIS today and was told it can take up to 30 days to receive NOA1 and she checked and said there's nothing in the system regarding my stuff yet so was told to just wait and call back if I don't receive anything by day 31. My GC is set to expire on the 3rd....so tomorrow. I'm freaking out right now because I don't know what to expect then I don't remember what I did with the receipt from the post office and I never checked the tracking number to make sure it was delivered and when so I'm freaking out even more thinking what if it got lost in the mail or something.

Anyone file around April 10 with California and not received anything yet? Sent in  cashier's checks and don't know where those receipts are either so I could check the status on this either. I'm gonna keep looking for those receipts, wish me luck on finding them!

Yup, same here. Apparently anything that has been sent after April 5th or so has not been touched yet 😔

Day 23 for me and I sent personal checks instead of cashier checks...
