I-751 April 2018 Filers

Considering how much permanent green card is getting delayed for CSC filers, does it even makes sense for someone from Dallas (local USCIS office) to file for Citizenship while waiting for condition removal. Problem with Dallas local Office is Citizenship applications are backed up around 20-24 months. I'm afraid filing for Citizenship will delay permanent green card process too by another 12-15 months. I'm thinking to file citizenship after receiving green card.

Any thoughts / suggestions?

Hi there, my wife has an expired Temporary Residence Green Card (Expired 5/30/2018)  We have already filed for the I-751 and have received the 18-month extension.  She like to travel to the Philippines for a month or two.  Has anyone had a trip to the Philippines with an expired Green Card.  Are there any issues or recommendations? I know the USCIS said that she can travel with an expired green card just as long as she carries the I-797 form with her.  Are there any worries traveling to the Philippines? I've heard some horror stories.

Hello! Were you able to travel to the Philippine Islands? How was their immigration w the extension letter? Any update will be much appreciated. Thanks

USCIS Continuing Form I-751 Data Entry

USCIS has completed receipting and data entry for all filings of Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, received between May 1 and Sept. 9, 2018. Petitioners should receive receipt notices by Oct. 22, 2018.

On June 13, 2018, USCIS announced that the California Service Center (CSC) was experiencing a delay in initial data entry for Form I-751. After changing the filing location for Form I-751 from the USCIS Service Centers to the USCIS Lockbox facilities in September, USCIS completed receipting and data entry of these petitions on Oct. 1.

If you submitted a Form I-751 to the CSC between May 1 and Sept. 9, 2018, and you have not received a receipt notice, do not file a duplicate Form I-751 unless you have received a rejection notice or have been instructed to do so by the CSC.

If your two-year green card has expired and you have not received a receipt notice, you may schedule an appointment online for you and any eligible dependents to be seen at your local field office. If possible, bring evidence that you sent your Form I-751 via the U.S. Postal Service or a delivery service, such as FedEx. If you have any questions about the process, visit the USCIS Contact Center page.

Hi guys,

Today I got another letter from USCIS saying that they MIGHT sent an extension letter with WRONG information, they asked me to check again and if it's wrong, send it back to them, otherwise just dis-regard it. I wonder if anyone got an extension letter from wrong info. If so, which info could have been wrong? I checked mine and nothing looked wrong besides the fact that they put my name on both petitioner's name and petition's name.

Thanks

I got the same letter. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light. The new letter says that the old 18-month courtesy copy might have some wrong info and if there is anything wrong, to highlight the wrong information and send back to them. Now, my data on this notice is all correct. However, the courtesy copy says "We have mailed an official notice about this case according to the mailing preferences you chose on form G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative" This is a courtesy copy, not the official notice". What does that mean? I never filled out form G-28 and I'm not represented by anyone. Does that constitute wrong information? Would you highlight that and send back to them? I'm so confused...

Ok, after some digging I found this thread and someone posted this link that explains what to do. I figured I'd share if anyone else has the same issue. https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-reissues-receipt-notices-extensions-conditional-permanent-resident-status

Hi Everyone, I thought i'd give a slight update. I finally called USCIS to inquire about my husband's biometric. the lady i spoke with (after husband gave her permission to speak to me about the case), said we should've been automatically sent a biometric letter within 30 days of them acknowledging receipt. She then asked if i had called them to let them know, which i of course said no. I also told her that I read online (here on VJ but didn't tell her i read it on VJ) that biometrics might be delayed since the I-751's are taking so long to process. I have seen many people getting approved without biometrics. But USCIS usually sends re-using previous biometrics which we have not got any mail yet. Anyways. most of April filer haven't done there biometrics yet and I am one of them. Keep us updated. :)

I am thinking of applying for N400 in Feb as soon as I am eligible. I saw on other threads that N400 seems to be moving.

Note it's also very possible that Biometrics will be waived just to help on the paperwork side of things on their end. I don't think we'll ever get any official confirmation on this though.

Problem is N400 process timeline varies as per your local USCIS office. Unfortunately, for Dallas applicants - even N400 is taking 2 years+ which will add delay for I-751 processing too if they end up combining both I-751 & N400.

N-400 Application Timeline :

Application sent via mail - April 15th  (Field office Dallas, TX)

NOA Receipt date - April 17th

Biometrics receipt - April 22th (appointment scheduled for May 14th)
