Hi Everyone,

My wife got her  18 months extension letter but still haven't got her bio-metrics letter. She has to travel abroad for good 4 months due to some family emergency.

What if she get her bio-metrics letter in her absence? Is there anyway we can reschedule her biometric appointment OR phone request to USCIS for early Biometrics? Can she do her biometrics in US embassy abroad?

She is April filer I-751 CSC.

Thanks

I'm still waiting for my biometrics appointment. I called the customer service last week and they said the system was down so they couldn't check my case status. It seems like there are a lot of technical problems at CSC. I guess that's one of the reasons it takes to long to process our application. I called them again today and my biometrics appointment still hasn't been scheduled. They told me to send a follow-up email. Did anyone try to do so? Any luck? Can anyone check case status online?

Are you aware CSC is currently taking 17-21 months to process ROC? If you are this anxious now, you are going to drive yourself crazy over the 12-16 months.

I hear some don't need biometrics and they just reuse what's on file. I suggest you call and ask.

How will this effect us? Also my wife did had Medicaid for first 4-5 months then changed to regular Health insurance. Will this new law effect my wife's process?

This is scary.  I would hope that this is not yet set in stone.  That article is a little confusing as we don't know whether that really concerns those who already have their temporary cards.

Hi All,

Need advise.

I got my green card through marriage. I am april 2018 I-751 filer, biometrics already done.

Received 18 months extension letter. The window to fill form N-400 opens in March 2019 for me.

My husband now wants divorce. I am still not ready as I donot have the green card yet.

Can someone help me with what do I do? If he brings the papers, what options do I have .

I donot want to sign anything before I get my GC in hand. Please advise

Sorry to hear about your situation

Did you file your application jointly ? I mean did your husband sign the application ?

You can always remove conditions using a divorce waiver establishing the marriage was entered in good faith . Lot of people have removed their conditions successfully even after they got divorced

If you get divorced then you cannot apply for citizenship using the 3 year rule you can apply after 5 years of being a permanent resident

Yes i filled jointly. The divorce is just verbally...nothing on papers because i said i wont sign anything before my citizenship.

can there be any issues if he brings in the divorce. When exactly do i need to file a waiver?

how complex is that process?

I got a notice within about 4-6 weeks stating that my previous biometrics were still good and I didn’t have to do it again. Of course the fee is non refundable.

I'm just counting down to when I can file for my citizenship because none of us are not safe with what is happening in this country

Dont we need to have a 10 year green card first? Some people said dont need, some people said we must have a green card before applying for the citizenship. Im so confused.
