Hi everyone.

Did anybody travel with EXTENSION LETTER and what is your experience?

Yup traveled two times with it already. Both times out of JFK with different airlnies to different countries.

Aerflot to Russia - checked in and boarded both ways without any problems.

Emirates to Dubai - both ways without a problem.

I had however gotten paranoid before, because of this thread and everyone getting passport stamps. I went to the airlines website and checked their rules on boarding and visa reqs. Both airlines had it written out that green card holders must board with the extension letter if their GC is expired.

Never had any problems at JFK border either. Good luck!

My husband received his 18 month extension letter yesterday. He filed April 14 , still no BIO appt. Csc

The 18 month extension letter's date is august 14. Does this mean that uscis has up to 18 month to gives us an answer starting on august 14? or they are counting 18 months from his original filing date in april?

The letter extends your conditional residence for 18 months from the expiry date on your greencard.

The current process times for lifting conditions are "18 to 21" months for CSC and "13.5 to 16" months for VSC.

You can get a decision from USCIS earlier or later than the estimated processing times. If 18 months passes and your case is still processing you will need to make an info pass appointment at your local immigration office to get an i-551 stamp.

Hi there, my wife has an expired Temporary Residence Green Card (Expired 5/30/2018)  We have already filed for the I-751 and have received the 18-month extension.  She like to travel to the Philippines for a month or two.  Has anyone had a trip to the Philippines with an expired Green Card.  Are there any issues or recommendations? I know the USCIS said that she can travel with an expired green card just as long as she carries the I-797 form with her.  Are there any worries traveling to the Philippines? I've heard some horror stories.

Hello,

I got the receipt number for my case for the removing condition on August 14 that says I have 18 month extention. I tried to check today my case status on the USCIS. The case status says On June 25, 2018, the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until December 22, 2018. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by December 22, 2018, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, with fee. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschangeto give us your new mailing address.

I did not get this massage it is totally  different what is written in the receipt paper..

Does anyone have an idea about this. Thank you

Hi Lana_17 - Just out of curiosity, did you get a visa on arrival in Dubai just with the expired GC and the extension letter?

Actually was only transferring in Dubai. I was going to Sri Lanka. Filled out a bass application online and wasn’t asked any questions.

I do now have to get a UK visa for upcoming travel in December - kind of freaking out about that. Hoping all will be good though as I am in current status.

Hope this helps!!

Thank you! Just FYI, I recently applied and got a Schengen visa without any issue, using the extension letter and expired GC. Good luck!
