We got something in the mail today via certified mail but missed the delivery.

This isn’t the method USCIS uses to send information, is it?!

It’s a letter. Won’t be available for pickup until tomorrow.

No it isn't, they send it by USPS.

Sent in my Items 4/7/2018, Received by USCIS 4/10/2018. It's been 9 days and still no NOA or the check being cashed. Seems like many get a response in a week or so.  My brain is entertaining all the things that could have gone wrong (wrongly filled form, things got messed up in the box while sending, wrong address) Wondering if I should call USCIS to check? Anyone roughly with the same timeline?

I hear you. We are going through the same kind of nightmare, imagining all kinds of things that we could have done wrong. We mailed our packet last week and still no NOA and no signs of check being cashed.

It's a good guesstimation! I think the processing time is just getting longer overtime as the applications start backing up. Like Jeff said, I assume it would be fairly straightforward at this point. I get if the screening process for I-485 is longer, but I don't get why the I-751 would take so long.

It takes so long because I-751 is not a priority. You still have permanent resident status while you ROC. They're gonna take their sweet time. Much of their manpower is probably being diverted to removals/deportations/violations.

We FINALLY applied to remove conditions on my husband's green card. We could have first applied Feb. 19 or something, but with both of us working full time and both going through grad school....we have no time. But it's FINALLY done. Mailed it off today, 4/23! Phew!

Hello everybody,

I signed up on this forum due to a little of anxiety.

I filed I-751 jointly with my husband and sent off the papers on April 09 via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. The package arrived Laguna Niguel, CA 92607 on April 10. Since then nothing has moved and I get more concerned every day. I check my bank account every day hoping to see the filing fee disappear but it's been two weeks and it's still sitting there. [My conditional GC expires on May 12 but I wasn't able to file earlier cause I was not in the States in March.]

I started having the weirdest thoughts like..." I wrote the wrong address" or..."the package opened and all the contents slipped out of it on the way there". I have my receipt from the post office, the address is correct. My only concern is the fact that the P.O. box number itself is not included in the receipt (I for sure wrote it on the package) but I don't regularly ship to P.O. boxes so I wouldn't know if it's normal this way.

Is anyone in a similar situation? From many posts I've seen in the web it seems that the checks are cashed maximum a week from the day they receive the application, a matter of days really. I can't stop thinking that my papers are somewhere else and that's why I haven't received any notice.

Honestly I'm not worried about the application or anything, just annoyed how long this whole thing is taking.

I'd advise people just to get on with their daily lives, and wait for USCIS to get back to you. If it's confirmed delivered, then that's all you can do.
