Since the government is shut down, do you guys think that this will affect our green card processing times?

It should not--

USCIS is primarily funded by the dollars we use to file these forms. I mean AOS costs like $1,140 so...

USCIS receives very little gov't funds from my understanding so all is well.

This may have been asked before, but if our receipt doesn't specify a field office, should we be concerned that it hasn't been moved to one at this point? Or is it worth calling and getting a status check over the phone? Been reading about our local office (SF) and looking online at processing times is pretty depressing...

I just called because my husband rec'd his work visa in September and we haven't had any updates online and just wanted to make sure we didn't miss the interview snail mail and they told me if I don't receive anything in 21 months I can then file an inquiry online!?!

Hey guys, I have some quick questions, please help.

1. I submitted my form I485 in April 2, 2018 to National Benefits Center. My local office is San Francisco, CA. I am checking the uscis processing time of form I485 now and did not see NBC in the dropdown options, thus I wonder which center is processing my case, so I can estimate the timeline better.

2. Among applicants whose local office is San Francisco, CA here ? Did anyone get the interview date yet ? My I485 status has changed into "Interview Cancelled" since last October, 2018 without scheduling any interview date for me. I am just getting more confused over time.

Thanks for your help.

Rescheduling isn't that bad, but I know you would want to just get it over with.

I'll be waiting to see the NJ updates on schedule, and of course waiting on my mail to arrive!

Hi, do you mind sharing when was your case ready to be scheduled for an interview? My case online status just changed to ready to be scheduled for an interview today and I just wanted to know how long it would take to get an interview for Newark, NJ lol

Thank you!!!

1) I think you pick San Fran CA in drop down? It says 10.5 to 30.5 months. Quite a big date range 😱

2) I would call USCIS if not sure why canceled

Hi everybody!

Hope you guys had a wonderful holidays! We finally received an interview date and it's on the 5th of February in Sacramento. Is anybody from Sacramento? If yes, have you done your interview already? I wish to know how the interview went?

Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I saw we submitted the packet at the same day and received EAD approval at the same time as well, except for my interview date ^_^

Los Angeles filler. Since May 25 "ready for an interview". Sooo long, so slow, tired of waiting... LA is the worst place to file btw. To many latinos filing in here, don't know how long more to wait, just disappointed.

We just asked for a reschedule a few days ago. We are also visiting my husband's country and the interview got schedule they day of our flight home :( :( We called the USCIS office and put in a service inquiry. Hopefully this is enough to take care of it......

Hey! Just logged back onto VJ. Did they ever respond to your service inquiry?

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Yes, we received one by email and one by regular mail this weekend which my mom picked up and sent us a copy of. We haven't re-entered the US yet, so we will see how that goes!

UPDATE! In mid-December I had posted we received our interview date, which we could not attend because we are visiting my husband's home country. The interview was scheduled for the same day as our flight back, which is January 23rd. We are currently out on Advanced Parole. Today, we received our rescheduled date--February 14th! If they don't approve us on Valentine's Day, they have don't have souls :P Anyway, everything went smoothly with the reschedule! It's just 3 weeks later the original--not too bad!
