I just submitted my I-131. I didn’t file it together with my Adjustment of Status because i thought I will be getting my interview within 3 months (never assume! Lol)

Anyway, I just mailed my Advance Parole and I just realized that I forgot to photocopy everything! - Form I-131 and all supporting documents!!

Is it okay to make a new set for when I have my interview? Do you think they’ll notice?

We submitted our AP late too. We didn't make photo copies either. Why do you need it for the interview?

Well, it’s just a good practice to photocopy everything for your records in case it gets lost or something. Also, it’s best to bring a copy of everything that you filed when you come in for interview.

Hello Everyone,

On Sept 7th, 2018 I received the text/email that my case was ready to be schedule for interview. (No appointment or letter as of today Oct 10.)

Yesterday Oct 9th,2018  I received text/email my I-765 EAD status: New Card Is Being Produced. (I'M SO GRATEFUL)

Then Today Oct 10th, 2018 Email that my AP I-131 has been denied ... I don't understand why. I haven't travel since I arrived, I have not abandoned the application or anything like that...

Any Ideas?

I'll be looking info online so if someone has anyy Info let me know.

Thanks !!

Well, of course it's good practice. I just didn't think of bringing in AP/EAD for AOS interview. I was only going to bring in joint statements, bank, leases, etc. I don't think AP/EAD are necessary since it doesn't prove that you are a real couple. But hey, to each of their own own! x

Oh no! They are denying APs too? This scares me because I just submitted mine yesterday. Was there any reason for the denial? This is the first case I’ve read wherein an AP was denied.

Well, it is not needed but it’s better to bring it. You’ll never know.

I requested for a new Social security card when I applied for EAD. It’s been week since my EAD was approved (got my EAD card yesterday) and still no sign of SS card. 😌

When did you guys get your Social Security cards?

This might be a silly question but once my husband and I got married we got a social security card for him. Do we get a different one when we get the green card?

I hve to request a new one because my previous social security card bears my maiden name. If you already applied using your new name and you put your social security number on your EAD application, then don’t think you would need a new SS card

I work in HR and I’m pretty sure your husband can start without his Social Security card. All he need to bring is his EAD and passport for the i-9 verification. Social Security card is listed on List C of acceptable documents BUT it doesn’t have to have any notes. In your husband’s case, his SS probably has a note saying “Valid for work only with DHS authorization”
