I requested for a new Social security card when I applied for EAD. It’s been week since my EAD was approved (got my EAD card yesterday) and still no sign of SS card. 😌

When did you guys get your Social Security cards?

Hey peeps !!

Map i got my RFE last week and send the response packet in a day later. They needed the 1040 tax return for the affidavit of support (which we already did sent in at the beginning but oh well).

Easy fix and the packet is sent and received. Fingers crossed.

Now, it’s been 157 days since my work permit application was received. Do I qualify for an inquiry? It still days received and I wonder if it’s out of normal processing times.

thanks and good luck to all of us !

I looked it up, current processing times are 4-6 months
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/#mainContent
so my guess is that you qualify for an inquiry after 6 months...

Hey Guys!

Does submitting case inquire outside of normal processing times really do make them work on your case a priority? My received date is on the 24th of April.

Thanks!

I think that depends on the staff who works at USCIS. But if you ask help for this through the congressional request. I believe it will make it faster response for them to handle your case.

Hi JloveN

Thank you for your response. I received an RFE in late June and I was able to respond to them back the next month with solid documents. Ever since then the only thing they said that they 'received' my RFE and that my case has been resumed. Other than that, I'm still waiting for my EAD😢

I'm sorry to hear that!. That's already long time ago. When I applied K1 Visa. Our case was outside processing time. We tried to call USCIS many times, sent request for outside processing time. But it didn't work. Then we asked help to congressman and it works faster. They touch our case etc. I think you should try congressional inquiry. That will works better for your case. Once the federal agency get congressional inquiry, they will work immediately to your case.

My case went out of normal processing time last Thursday. I called them and the tier one officer sounded like she was having a conversation in the background she'd rather get back to. I was already planning on escalating it so I just asked her for a tier 2 officer. I was patched through and the next lady, after several security questions, was telling me I'd have to wait at least 45 days to see the result of expediting my case. I just thanked her and ended the call. Already the SR online said to expect a reply by Oct 26. I called my congresswoman the next day (being yesterday, Friday) so let's see what her office does. These guys at USCIS are just full of nonsense.

I think contact the congressman is a better idea. I contacted the congressman a day and next day I got RFE. I have called uscis many times and nothing works.

So maybe someone can help me understand because I’m lost!

Sept 5th I got notification that my husbands EAD card had been mailed. He received his SSN a few days prior. Great! He applied for a job, thinking the card should come in the mail within a few days.

Sept 23rd we still had not received anything in the mail. Job offer is pulled, they need the employment card 🙄🙄

I called USCIS 3 times, and they told me the same thing oh it’s still being produced, blah blah blah you have to wait you put 3 inquiry’s in you probably won’t hear anything status wise until oct 15th.

Its now Oct 9th, and I have yet to see this card that has been “mailed”

my whole thing is why are you telling me the card is being produced when I got the notification that it’s already been MAILED and we haven’t got it yet? This is super annoying and frustrating. Does anybody know what I can do besides wait? I’ve put informed delivery on my mail and nothing...

Did you speak to a Tier 2 officer who told you this information?

Contact your Congressman. This is an excellent time to do so because a lot of them are up for re-election next month and are trying to get any vote they possibly can.

I just submitted my I-131. I didn’t file it together with my Adjustment of Status because i thought I will be getting my interview within 3 months (never assume! Lol)

Anyway, I just mailed my Advance Parole and I just realized that I forgot to photocopy everything! - Form I-131 and all supporting documents!!

Is it okay to make a new set for when I have my interview? Do you think they’ll notice?
