Woohoo EAD changed to "New card is being produced." It's weird because the status for the AP document didn't change. I thought they come together?

Congratulations!. Status for AP never change on online but you will receive letter of approval EAD and AP on mailbox before you receive the card.

Welp, we've officially reached the 4 month mark of waiting for my husband's EAD! We had to cancel our plans to travel back to India in November to visit family because even if the EAD/AP arrives next month *fingers crossed* it will still be cutting it too close to book tickets and plan the trip. This whole process is really making me re-think filing for the K1 in the first place. Obviously nothing I can do about it now and I'm glad we are together while we're waiting, but the spouse visa option is seeming a lot more practical now! 90 days waiting for EAD would've been no big deal, but 4-6 months is just outrageous! I really hope they get a handle on this and get approvals processing quickly.

Question - does anyone know if the EAD/AP is processed by the local office or at the NBC(i think that's what its called)? In other words, I know the Phoenix office is pretty slow for AOS - but will that mean the EAD/AP gets processed slower than others also? Or are all done by the same office regardless of local office? Trying to decide if I should get excited about seeing others on this thread getting approved or not :D

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

NBC processes EAD/AP
Your GC is local office- which is why there's a big range in when people get their GC. If your office is fast, you can bet to even have ur GC before your turn at NBC with the EAD/AP

Ah okay, thanks!! Phoenix office from what I've seen on here is definitely not fast. So that makes me feel better knowing EAD/AP is processed by NBC instead of the local office.

Hi! I received my card! It was delivered to my attorneys address on Saturday. When I called the USCIS, they said the address they had on file was my own address so we didn’t reach out to the attorney. The attorneys office called us today. I have my card in hand-finally. Thank you for all your help!!

i have a question though. my photo in the EAD card is not the one i submitted with the form. it is not also the photo during my biometrics. so i am kind of wondering where did they get the photo?

After we got married, my wife applied for her SSN immediately. She got it, but with the conditional that it's only valid with DHS work authorization. When we applied for AOS and EAD, we asked for a new SSN to be sent once approved. The new SSN is the same as the old - only valid with the work authorization. Should we have expected that to not show the conditional? Or is that normal because the EAD is not the GC and therefore not a permanent work permit?

Before you get your GC, your SSN always says you need work authorization. Once you got your GC, you can go to SS office to remove it.
