Hi all,

April 11,2018 sent out via FEDEX

April 13,2018 it delivered

April 20,2018 checks were cashed

We haven’t got notification via email or text message yet, assuming that’s next. Long process that just started but I’m already losing my patience. Hope everyone’s process goes through nice and smooth!

April 22nd we received emails and text messages with receipt #

Check this link, https://www.uscis.gov/i-485, as mentioned on the Special Instructions.

Filing Forms I-765 and I-131 with Form I-485

If you are filing Form I-485 (or already filed a Form I-485 on or after July 30, 2007), you do not have to pay an additional fee to also file a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization and/or Form I-131, Application for Travel Document for advance parole. You may file these forms together.

You will only need to pay the total of $1,225 (for AOS,EAD,AP and biometrics). You can send a single check for the said amount. The payment is already waived for Employment Authorization and Advance Parole if you file it together with the Form I-485 (AOS).

Thanks for linking me, i understand now and phew! Glad thats sorted. :)

check cashed in and the 3 notification emails received yesterday! wishing everyone else who's waiting to get them soon! :)

on a curious note, USPS says they delivered the packet on the 19th, yet USCIS' website says "On April 18, 2018, we received your Form ..."

From what I can work out, it's the sponsor who only needs to fill it out I-864. If the sponsor is above the poverty line, you should only need the I-864 form. We needed the I-864A because we're transitioning from Australia to USA  and my partner would appear to be below the poverty line with regards to US income, so we got her father to fill in the I-864A as a joint sponsor/household member as they're both residing at the same address.

I think I read about ways where you could add your assets to the US citizen's income if you filled in your own I-864 as another sponsor. We chose to go the other route and get a household member. It seemed easier for our situation.

I'm pretty sure you'll be 1 household member in the I-864, but not required to fill an additional I-864/A.

A total of 2 household members if it's just your husband and yourself.

I tried to research as much as I could, I hope I'm offering sound advice, haha

Hey the i-864 is filled in by both the US Citizen and sponsor. The i-864a is only filled in if the joint sponsor needs extra help. Like for instance, if the cosponsor helping is your partner's father. If he doesn't earn enough he can add say his wife to help. Then she can fill in the i864a form.

The US Citizen and the cosponsor both fill out the i864. The i864a is only filled out if a second joint sponsor is added.

Still going to follow the advice of @Wuozopo and the other fine folks who helped me in such great detail.

Also said his biometrics letter is on the way.

This process tests your sanity, for sure.

Thanks and love to you all.

Received noa1 hard copies in mail on April 16th. All 3. Now I'm waiting for my biometrics appointment to arrive! How long is this supposed to take from noa1 recieved to biometrics letter in mail? It's been a week and a day since we recieved the noa1s. Im so impatient. I have heard every local office is different and depends on how busy they are??

We got rejected for ead and I-131 because they said we didn’t have an approval for AOS

About 3 days later we got our AOS notice so we resubmitted everything showing them all fees had been paid and we filed under all the correct codes and such.

Hang in there. It'll come :)

Most of the 2018 filers got their approvals very fast unlike ours (July 2017 Filers).

Wow, a few hours after I posted this, I got two texts at MIDNIGHT from USCIS saying they received our case. Ugh. I'll never understand how USCIS works. At least we're in the process now. Good luck to everyone!

I received text messages at 10pm on a Sunday!

When I was least expecting it. Ugh is right lol.
