Update: this morning my status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview". I assume my location is San Francisco.

Please share your experience if you can:

1. When  should I expect the status to change to "Interview Scheduled" ?

2. After changing to "Interview Scheduled", when should I expect the interview date might be ?

I need to plan some international travels so it would be great if I have more information. Thanks guys

Update: My status just also changed to "Interview Scheduled" and I am waiting for the letter now. I think interview date will be next one month. Good luck guys.

No! Was actually 6 months before, but that system is not that great. Even at my interview I ask the officer if she can verify my new address and she saw the wrong one in the system. After that the only thing that came to my right address was my greencard. The rest of approvals from petitions they where forwarded from my old address even after the officer change in her system.

I’m still waiting for the interview notice by mail. It’s been almost three weeks since I got the status change alert via sms/email. Fingers crossed.

By the way, have you received your green card today as expected?

Hi guys, quick question about medical exam. If someone already completed the interview, please advise.

I applied i485 along with medical exam in April 2018, my interview date is September 2019 (more than 1 year since applying). I am converting from F1 visa. Location: San Francisco

Do I need to make a new medical exam and bring it to the green card interview?

Many thanks.

You're right. After calling USCIS Level 1 many times and having been asked to wait 30 days and told that the address was correctly maintained in the system, I decided to call USCIS and this time talked to Level 2 officer yesterday morning, and the officer said it was mailed out on July 18th! (!!) but I still haven't received it, and that she was requesting to have it resent by mail. I asked her why that happened - she said she had no idea though the address is maintained correctly to my current one.

Then yesterday evening, I received an email from USCIS containing the attachment of the Interview Notice Letter with a watermark COPY. Guess what... the address printed on that copy is the old address that I already filed an address change since September 2018. **sigh**

This morning, I called USCIS and talked to another Level 2 officer again - the officer said I could print that attachment out to bring to the interview which is on August 19th, 2019. Then I asked him why the old address was printed on that interview notice and if that would cause a trouble. He said there are two USCIS systems, and that doesn't matter, just print it out (???). **sigh 2nd time**

Nevertheless, at least now I can attend the Interview, I'll verify the address again with the Interviewing Officer to make sure they will mail the green card to the right address. Hopefully there won't be any extra 'surprise'. It's hard to believe technical things like this can happen in America especially in the year-long mature government system... but it does!

Haven't been following this thread for a while now and I'm looking to renew my EAD, it expires next month and no interview schedule in sight.

Is there a guide for EAD reapply, looks pretty straight forward but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything, for instance Part 2, 21asks about the i-94 arrival documment, I can put it there just in case. Or they ask about passport/travel documment, I'm adding both of them just to be on the safe side, but I want to do it decline-safe.

Do we still have to pay the $410 filing fee?

Lastly, I'm obviously not gonna receive the replacement by the time my EAD expires, I know the NOA letter will serve as 6 more months proof, will I have any issues at work? I'll provide them the NOA number and they'll just know how to add it there? From what I saw they're not so educated about the way -we- have work authorization and what not.

Edit: Oh good thing I noticed, I forgot the travel document is a separate file, so we have to file form i-765 and i-131 , hope I'm not missing anything.

Wow... that is weird... I got the temporary DL for 60 days, but I think the actual card will have longer time than that. I went to DMV in Hayward, which is open on Saturday too. You can take a shot if you want. Good luck

I would try a different DMV. Half the staff don't know what they are doing and the other half don't care. My husband went to 2 different locations until he got his ID.

The first time 1 agent said we needed XYZ documents so we go back later with what she asked for then the other lady said we didn't have the right things so we went to a different DMV and they issued it to him.

Good luck but don't give up :)

Congrats! My interview date is in Sept too. Effective Nov 1st 2018, the I693 is valid for two years but must meet certain criteria.

To answer your question, it depends on when the civil surgeon signed your medical exam and when you submitted your AOS

As long as you submitted your AOS within 60 days of the civil surgeon signing the I-693, its valid for 2 years

Well, we spent about an hour at the DMV yesterday. Got there a little after 7am (did you know some locations are now open at 7am?!). We filled out the app, and went up to renew our license. The clerk took my wife's paperwork and went to a back room. She came back shortly and told us that unfortunately we could NOT renew because the EAD had not yet expired. We have to come back the DAY AFTER it expires (which also happens to be the day before the interview date) in order to renew it, and she'd only renew it for 60 days at that time. We'd have to then come back EVERY 60 days to renew it again. Bummer for us...

@QN&CD Update:

I went to the DMV at Redwood City on Monday and spent about 90 mins there. I got extended for 6 months as per the i797C showing my renewal application of i765.

All he wanted from me was my DL, EAD and the i797C for renewing i765. He did not even need my SSN card nor show my proof of California Residency. The guy that helped me told me he works at Santa Clara DMV and that he was just helping out at the Redwood City.

Hi! Thanks for sharing this! Since our interview is next week, we just decided to not bother going from one DMV to another to find the right person for this. We'll just keep our fingers crossed for the interview and then apply for the DL after, since the EAD will be officially expired by then as well. Thanks!!

My wife and I seemed to have also come across some documentation that the medical exam was valid for only 1 year, so we decided to get another exam just to be on the safe side. It was $285, which included the lab tests, somewhere in Oakland CA. The most frustrating part was that we were never given a copy of the vaccinations, which we were supposed to have, so they sent us a poorly scanned copy. Lucky for us the doctor accepted it.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I found the information and I think I do not need to get the new medical exam since i got the exam after I submitted the aos packet about 3 weeks.

Which location you are interviewing ? I assume I would be interviewed in SF, but they sent me to San Jose office.
