Our checks were cashed ($85 biometrics and $1,140 for AOS) and then today we got rejection notices stating we sent incorrect fees.

The I 131 rejection for travel document says on the USCIS website we must pay $135 form fee because he is classified as a “c” (K3 spouse, I’m assuming k3 because we are now married but we started with a k1 and got married than filed AOS, EAD. AP

The other rejection letter is the I 765 (ead) says we have no proof of I 485,  which we were notified was approved April 15th.

What?!

we submitted the correct fees, we do have an approved I 485 and now they want us to resubmit all entire applications and fees again?

@Wuozopo please help me😣

I'm trying to figure this out.

  • You sent all three in the same envelope?

So that was proof of having an I485 because they arrived together. You said "we do have an approved I-485". I don't think so. An approved one means you'd have your greencard.

  • Do you mean you have a receipt of filing the I-485?
  • Did USCIS return anything to you...forms,  check?
  • Did you make photocopies of all of these applications if they did not return them to you?

FEES

  • Did you make out one check for $1225?
  • It was filled out exactly to U.S. Department of Homeland Security?

Look at your copy of the I-485.

24. What is your current immigration status (if it has changed since your arrival)?  N/A

The form fee is currently 1140.00

we did that correctly.

all three were sent in the same envelope.

We we have an email saying they received our AOS, not approval, correct.

I will double check the other info but filed out the way you stated here.

i just can’t figure out where this extra fee is coming from.

thank you very much

Hey!

Just a little confused there, do we not send evidence of marriage and ongoing relationship etc in the AOS envelope?

Initially applied March 20th but it was returned due to “incomplete and/or the credit card information you supplied was denied”. (I included fee for 1225, on a g-1450 form, and have sufficient funds, but I mistakenly put A6 on i-765)

I refiled (category C9 on i-765 and included check for 1225) and uscis received on 4/11.

No word yet and they have yet to cash the check.

How many passport pictures did you include in there?

Because every form except affidavit requires 2 pictures it should be 6 right?

Some people said they sent 2 and no problem, but why not just send 6 so you don't need to worry?

Congrats!

I found this cover sheet online, and it actually doubled as a good checklist. Hope this helps. (Ignore the formatting at the top, it is a table inserted into Word)

I believe G-325A is no longer used. If it is, I didn't send it!

Hopefully this is all that is required, I'm no expert, so take this as advice.

Great checklist. Thanks for posting it!

Does everyone have to fill out the I-864a?

We have the affidavit of support filled out and I believe that all I need. Since it’s only me and my husband and no other household member. Is that correct? Or am I the household member in this instance?

I have 0 income since I don’t have the work permit yet so it would not make any sense to fill out that form.

Or is it mandatory?
