Delay NVC stage

We've moved on to The NVC stage and are currently on step 2 - Which is to pay fees. Now, my wife and I are going through an IVF treatment here in Norway, for those who know what that is. Anyways, we need to wait a few extra months, maybe up to a year, to move to the US. 

 

Is is it possible to do all the steps in the NVC process, but delay the interview and tell them that we need to pause it or something?

 

Anyone with similar experiences?

Just delay doing the steps. You have a year to complete each step.  So do the ds-261, wait some time, pay the aos fee, wait, pay the IV fee within a year of when you want to interview...  do the ds-260, and send the documents when you are ready for a case complete and interview.  Its easier to do that then delay the interview itself.
