Hello everyone,

I read on a FB group that one person with PD in January 2019 got their NOA2 notice few days ago - from NEBRASKA. Very nice lady who explained that they didn't expedite but that their lawyer applied for both I130 and I129F - and the I130 got approved within 4 months...

Do you guys think that applying for I129F can actually make them hurry on I130 process? (as we all know they don't really issue K3 visas anymore)...

Which FB group is this? I can't find this post in I-130 filers group. Thanks!

My I130 case also went to NSC and the submission receipt date is June 13, 2018. Exactly 11 months today and hopefully hear back soon.

I saw some other posts from May 28 submission who still have not heard back so not sure how realistic it is to expect something.

Also had contacted my Senator who submitted a request for update for me, but USCIS gave the same response to the senator, contact us again in 60 days. :(

Here in solidarity! My date is June 6th, 2018. And so far on case tracker, only RFEs around my number, not approvals. Part of me just wants to stop even checking all those things because it doesn't seem to be moving. On June 5th, I can contact them again.

I know someone whose petition was received on 1/18/19 and got approved on 3/28/19. Her service center was Nebraska. She is currently at NVC stage. It's shocking that she got approved so fast. No expedite. They are definitely not reviewing cases by oldest date. It must be random.

After reading everywhere around this forum that K3 were obsolete it is a joke to read right now that it was the way to go faster.  Makes no sense.

K3 is obsolete but I guess the theory here is, “if you petition for a K3 they’ll look at it faster and just throw away the 129-F and continue processing as a CR1”. However this is probably just a coincidence, I doubt it makes them look at it any faster

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

Finally something semi-encouraging! Press release from US Hispanic Caucus linked here: https://congressionalhispaniccaucus-castro.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/chc-chair-castro-and-81-democrats-demand-gao-investigate-uscis-record

Basically, Castro and 81 House dems demand that GAO investigate USCIS’ “record-breaking backlog”! I do wish it referenced the disparity in processing centers though...

Dallas Morning News covered the story here: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/immigration/2019/05/13/joaquin-castro-house-dems-ask-watchdog-look-record-breaking-immigration-backlog-trump

I wish it would say I-130 forms, but none of the forms is our form, but yea they won't address it with precision.
