We had a status update today stating that our file has been sent to the department of state.

We're slowly but surely getting to the finish line.

I'm seen some people applied I-129 what is the reason because I-130 take to long? Does I-129 help our case get faster?

I'm sooooooo confused as to how they work. I know, everybody is haha. But still... I've filed for both 130 and 129 before the past two couples and still haven't gotten approved :( Our case shouldn't be a complicated one though. And then there's the fact that no one hears the news the same way (app, website, email, snail mail, calling). I am happy for you guys though.

Also the app stopped working for me on August 2nd, I simply can't check my cases or refresh the screen... Anybody else has that issue?

No, the I-129F for K3 visa at nebraska SC is processed in 1 to 2 months (for cases I've seen on VJ) and it's denied and the I-130 is approved at same time instead. Without I-129F the I-130 takes on average a year to be processed so you can expect to hear something around 09/26, give or take a month depending on the specifics of your case. So I'd say it's not worth it in your case but it's your decision, you also have to consider the downside in case the I-129F is approved instead of the I-130 (see in the post I cited). Unlikely but technically not impossible. Maria66 above had a PD close to yours and filed the I-129F in July and just got apporved so it saved hera bit of time but now it's on month later for you.

That's probably the quickest I've seen. It takes about a month for most people but it seems a bit longer for a few...
