Congrats! 😁 Where do you check your status? Im august 8, 2018 filer.

You can create an account on USCIS's website and add your case to it; it will then (ideally, if they update it) show you your case's current status on your dashboard. :)

Hi everyone, quick question. I filled my taxes as single for the past two years. Do you think it will affect my i130 application?

Are/were you married when filing? If so, you’d probably better get those amended. It’s illegal to file single if lawfully married, and it will be scrutinized during the review for sure. My tax preparer said married is married no matter where in the world your spouse lives. We filed married joint and used me as the primary filer and assigned him as NRA and gave a placeholder SSN like 111-11-1111 or something. This requires paper filing, but was still pretty quick. One of the first tax preparers I went to tried to tell me I had to file single, and she was very rude. I turned and ran the other direction.

It’s doesn’t matter so much to uscis as they understand that the beneficiary is in another country, but you can amend your taxes as the IRS does need to know. I amended one year after given incorrect info from a tax consulting company. I put married, filing separately NRA in the social security box. It was amended, but it doesn’t change the tax transcript I need for NVC stage. Only the other transcripts updated that are not used at NVC. So I’m sure this happens all the time since immigration is not an easy process.

Yeah I was married, my lawyer told me to leave it as it is. I think I'll amend it to be on the safe side.

Yeah it’s very easy you just need a 1040x takes about 2-3 months to process with IRS.

Hello everyone ,

when we sent our I-129F i think we put our only NOA1 hard paper notification in the package because I can not find it anymore ...i don’t remember making a copy of it 🧐 I am over stressed because usually I have everything in the same folder and I am very careful with my paperwork’s .

could we ask for a copy ? If yes did they charge us ?

Thank you for your answer 😊

I think you can contact USCIS to ask for a new one maybe, I'm not sure if it costs anything though. If I may ask what else did you send for your I-129F? We are planning on doing it soon as well

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

I don’t think you need it for anything else..only the copy of DS260 submission at NVC stage. I wouldn’t fret over it.

Hi and thank you for your answer 😊

we will contact them I think .

We sent the form , the NOA1 😫, passport pictures for both of us , birth certificate with translation , passport copies for both of us and marriage certificate . We put a lot of paperwork’s but obviously we didn’t  need to put that much . I read here days ago that you have to send the form , the NOA1 and the marriage certificate and that’s it I think . ( not sure at 💯 sorry) .

they received it on the 8 of the month , we are waiting for news

I feel like that k3, i129f isn't working...  Just an opinion.

Let's see if anyone gets a faster approval due to k3.

Maybe it works sending it ahead of time and not so close to the date. 🤷🏼‍♀️
