Also note that you do not need to translate documents that are in the language of the country where you are having the interview. That means you do not need to translate a french birth certificate or a french police record for your interview in Paris (and you don't have to upload translations at the NVC stage). Source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html

"All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which you are applying for a visa, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that:

The translation is accurate, and
The translator is competent to translate."

I was ready to make the police certificate translate .. thank you !

As usual ..

Each months they start and work for 2 weeks and then they slow down coming back in the same dates many times . At the end they take minimum 1 and 1/2month to process a month .

I hope to hear something In august but I don’t really think ..

Time will tell us .. at 332 days now I am like “ whatever “ Lol 🤷‍♀️

But for sure if nothing at the end of September we will consider to stay in France 🇫🇷

thank you for your nice words 🙏😊

We're at 316 days now and I've went from half-whatever into a phase of slight "paranoia", expecting it to take forever just to get an RFE "or worse". This whole waiting-process is like a rollercoaster ride, going back and forth between "it'll happen when it happens, just enjoy your time with friends and family at home while you're still there" and "...this is taking too long...anyone working?...why are there so many RFEs?...are we going to get one?...will we EVER be approved?!". Hubbs and I have yesterday set a date on which we'll be considering other options, too, if we haven't heard anything by then (other options = filing for a K-visa after all, although sub-ideal; country-alternative(s), etc.). I'm a planner, so I've had quite a few internal freak-outs lately about how it's gonna work out with job-quitting (3 month notice needs to be given), renewing phone plans and other contracts now - and for how long (versus cancelling stuff now, and getting (more expensive, but easier to get out of) month-by-month), etc. - with processing times getting longer (it showed 7.5-9 months when we filed, vs the 11-14.5 now), the planner in me is going a bit crazy lol. I'm sure this phase of feeling unsettled and anxious will pass again, but I fully understand setting a personal "deadline" at the end of which alternatives will be more seriously considered.

"One day, the plane ticket will be one way."

I hear you! I’m a planner too! Today is day 346. I need plan A, B, C ...1, 2, 3 ... and all the sub-plans that go along with them and the contingencies, if this, then that. I have this maze of choices and plans for every part of my life, so it doesn’t seem odd to have it in this decision as well. My son is the biggest issue, he’s determined that he wants to go to highschool and university in the USA, so he’s been there 165 days without me, getting enrolled and set up when I thought that I could be there with him so much faster than this! Sighhhhh! I’m scared to go and be with him and risk my husband being declined and have to forfeit everything in the USA, sell everything again and come back to Asia. It’s just a budgeting nightmare! I haven’t lived in the USA for almost 8 years. We have to buy everything. Car, furniture, etc.

This process really sucks!

Right now I'm trying to find joint sponsor.

But still waiting for it to be at nvc. Not sure when we'll reach there

My lawyer’s last email said, if it continues to take this long, at least you will have an IR1 instead of a CR1. I guess they’re paid to be positive. Haha!

Yeah it’s weird how they go by two year rule. I’ve been in a relationship with my husband for over four years but not quite one year marriage. It’s like being punished for taking the time to get to know someone instead of jumping right into marriage. So when he arrives it will be under 2 years marriage but 5 years of relationship 🙄

I’ve been with my husband since 2015, married since 4/2018. We took our time too! We’re learning about all of these rules and processes as we go along.
