We got approved today after only 148 days! Sent in a I-129f with PD May 29th 2019 and an hour ago I got an email saying that my case was updated. Logged in and our I-130 was approved!! Still no updates regarding the K3 visa (I was expecting an update on that one, but still “case received”). Time to read and prepare everything for the next step at NVC.

I wish that we sent in the K3 sooner but read to many “it’s just gonna be denied” so we didn’t, but I’m pretty convinced that it works!

Something to lighten the atmosphere. I live overseas with my husband while we wait this process out (I’ve been here almost 8 years and my son already left a few months ago to be enrolled in high school on time in the USA) and he got tired of sitting around waiting and not putting any roots down or moving forward in our life so his solution was to go out and buy us a fish tank and some koi.

So I guess stability in this wait = an aquarium full of fish. I must admit, the sound of the water is soothing.

It both surprised me and made me giggle this afternoon!

Now, what am I gonna do with these fish when it’s time to go! Haha! Happy Friday!

Wow.. you are living in Cambodia? That's really neat.

You're close also!

🐟🐠 Fishes in water are really soothing.. I can just picture it..

someone just posted on FB that USCIS has caught on to the Nebraska folks and supposedly they are going to nip it in the bud shortly. Of course, I have no clue if their source is reliable or if this is even possible according to the laws. They are indicating that USCIS has seen all of the posts etc. anyway...just figured I would pass along, but have no idea if its legit.

Which FB group is this?

Hey, keep arguing with the straw man! And lol @"lurks"... I have posted quite a few times in the last few days, and I only signed up for this site a few weeks ago, so... I guess fail?

Our straw man is gonna be a toughie to sit out the full term, i.e. 12-14 months😀 As he has just begun his sentence, let’s see what he will be saying in 3,6,or 9 months from now😉

Cool story, bro. Now maybe try talking about what I actually said?

Yes, I’ve been here almost 8 years. I live out in the middle of nowhere :)

My job is here, but it’s moving me back to the US, that’s why we are trying to get this immigration process done. We never planned on living in the US, so it’s a huge change of plans for both of us.

We’re the same...I’ve been abroad for 8 years, living together. Our plans were never set to stay, go, etc.  watch out, some people have literally (verbally) attacked me because it hasn’t always been our desperate wish to live in the US 🙄 People have said I was stupid to wait 8 years to file, etc.  Um, no, we’ve just been busy living our lives here and circumstances changed. It doesn’t change our rights or now need to go.

Yikes!! I can’t imagine being at the end of an attack like that. We’ve only been married since 4/2018, but living together since 2015.  I love living here, but my job needs me back there, it was something I fought for the last 2 years. I didn’t want to leave our home and friends. We cancelled our K1 because I thought it worked out for someone else to take the job there and that didn’t last so here we are.  Sometimes we just sit and try to figure out how to make it work here, but now that my son has already left and is waiting for us, we need to move forward. My husband is so good, he says I’ll follow you wherever we need to go. Everyone’s circumstances change and everyone has a right to decide what’s best for their lives!!

I lived in Brazil with my husband for 2 years and literally everyone would ask us all the time why we were in brazil and not in the US, when you live your life in a way ppl don't expect they think you need to give them answers. We were in brazil (I still am) because the plan was to finish college and get a diploma because i was already half way through it and college is free in Brazil for ppl who get accepted in public universities, which was my case. It made no sense for us to drop everything here and just go in 2016, but ppl always expect things to go their way, and they think you need to give them answers regarding your personal life. Idk about you, guys, but I find it quite annoying sometimes

I wasn't even referencing you as being the lurker. Are you that thirsty for attention? I referenced the lurker by name, a friend. He's the bigger a-hole than I am. (Doesn't mind me calling him that) Whom got his application approved without doing the k-3 process faster by being a bigger annoying son of a b then I have time for.

So burn that straw man up along with your baseless allusion to consequences.

Forum is about support, tracking timelines for data and of course if a will found a way on a faster process sharing it to others.

Yes, we do get lots of questions and odd looks. None of us owe anyone explanations for how we make our choices! The ones usually asking all the questions are the ones that matter the least!

So many things go into our choices - locale, relationships, jobs, family, food!

The one thing that I’m going to miss the most is the food, because the food in the US doesn’t even begin to compare to the food here in terms of freshness and variety. Luckily, I added a request to my company that I get to come back here once a year as part of my agreement to go to the US. So, we won’t always be too far away!

"The ones usually asking all the questions are the ones that matter the least!". You are so right about this, and that is the most annoying part, sometimes I just wanna answer "why do you care?" And now with us living apart everyone keeps asking why is taking so long for me and for him. But one day this is all gonna be over and we won't have to answer to people's inquiries because our life will correspond to their expectations 🤣
