October 2017 I-129F Filers, Part II

I commented on this post about two days ago saying I got an RFE because they wanted my birth certificate again. I sent in the short one and when I talked with my lawyer he said the short one should be fine since in South Dakota you only get one. What do I do? Should I go and get a new birth certificate and how long does it take to get it?

I am happy to see so many october filers :).

We are still waiting for ours.  Oct 6th receipt date.

How come Oct 16, 17 and 19th getting approved while Oct 2nd are still waiting.

Any input please.

That's just the way it goes. The whole process has to move forward with the cases that are easy or ready to be approved. There is no rhyme or reason for why the dates move forward, but they wouldn't be on October if we waited for every case on every date to be approved prior to moving on to the next as there are still filers from June, July, August & September waiting too.

so USCIS officers just randomly pick a case from list of cases or what?  Why should June/July/ August cases be in the pending process (ie. not receive RFE), while they process October cases.

I mean I thought our case was simple and easy.  No red alerts.  Never been married.  No criminal history. Met couple of times before filing application.

I am just trying to learn this process.

No one knows. I'm just relaying the trends that we see over and over and over again from watching how things happen in previous months. There is speculation that it could be background checks that take longer, piles of files on adjudicator's desks who work slower than others, applications that aren't complete or easy to say yes to and so on. It's all a mystery really.

I think they mean out of 169 I-129f applications in the 500 they scanned, there were 20+ approvals among them.

Yea that's what I meant.

Out of 500 files scanned. 169 are I-129. 21 of those I-129 were approved or rfe .

Hope that clarifies things.
