  • Hi All,

I am a here, but waiting impatiently in silence. I called USCIS on Friday and the rep said that in the California Processing/Service Center they were on September 8, 2017. Since yesterday it jumped to September 11, 2017. I might be mistaken, however, I see approvals on here for October. I am altogether confused. Please help. I am an October 5 filer.

Any insight will truly bail me out of my misery, and confusion :)

Thanks

T

Only RFE's today. Don't worry, this could just mean that there will be a bunch of silent NOA2's in the coming days or maybe they'll just do a late update of approvals, but it doesn't seem like there will be any further movement today. Don't lose hope, we might see a rain of approvals next Monday!

hey daniel p!

i just wanted to ask, how far have they gone through october like received date wise? i'm really thankful you're doing october filers.. though i'm not so sure how to check for information. i like that you have the virgin cases, but was wondering how many are the touched ones and approved. i dunno i guess i'm used to checking everyday updates from naes in june, july, august and september. the one in november follows her format. but with october i'm still kinda lost. so i decided to ask. thanks so much! i appreciate it. and i appreciate you doing this. i used even like the posts with those charts you used to make or send after naes posts the monthly updates. i'm a december filer by the way so checking everyday or every now and then really helps me see or estimate timelines and me being realistic. thanks again!

vj estimated timelines depend on vj forum users to actually update their timelines and actually input the right dates for the estimates to work.

naes, daniel p and the others who help base their timelines on movement on uscis case tracker apps which they scan all the cases per day, and do tally sheets for daily and weekly and monthly. they are the more accurate ones since its also based on uscis app case trackers. the thing is, with them sometimes silent noa2's are not included because their cases were not updated on the uscis case tracker. so actual data might be much higher than what it appears.

as for what the uscis it says september cases - this is what they reportedly say so that people after that date don't call them to nag about their cases yet and only those before that date can nag them since they're longer than usual processing times. and if ever there are cases being approved after the date they post, they just hope those people are happy and it's to improve averages for average times of all the filers.

so actually it's really good to follow naes, daniel p and the other peeps with their updates cause they can give you a closer idea to the uscis actual timeline like what's happening in the real world. hahaha.

Wow! These responses are certainly more comforting. So where do they "appear" to be for California Service Center at the moment? Just a 10/5 filer hoping on a wing, and a prayer here :)

to make your life easier, yeah you just follow their posts... and then eventually start checked the new and old website and your phone and snail mail closer to your expected time which is for me in december but i checked your timeline and your noa 1 was oct so i guess no choice for you but to check everyday now cause it might just come anytime. but that's like a good thing! unlike for me i still have a couple of weeks to go.

it's in california service center because it's where all k1 visas are being processed. once you send it to the texas lockbox or mail... the texas people seggregate it by type of visa/petition.. they scan it and then send it to the service centers that processes it. in our case the k1 visas all go to california one... unless the petitioner has serious criminal record or has some incriminating stuff then it goes to vermont service center.. which you probably do not like. only a few cases go there so that's why their processing times are faster. after it gets adjudicated in california they will send it to nvc and nvc will send it to the us embassy in your country.

Okay, so ALL these NOA2's so far have been in California? They (USCIS rep) make it sound like my Service Center is behind.. Hmm.. Ugh!

yes, they are all in calfornia. and yes they are delayed or is setting new "time frames" as the new normal every time so that everyone can't predict what will happen next or when all of us will get our noa2's. some people will be lucky and some will be in "normal times" with most of tat month's filers and then some will be lagging behind. so it's hard to say... but yeah, naes and daniel p and others really help keep everyone positive and informed and also helps condition the mind on when to expect or not to expect. like lately it seems like it's slowing down. but there are cases of silent noa2's so we'll see.

At least I am not the only one :( I am truly trying to stay positive, it is just too unpredictable.
