Flu shot is only for 6 months ended in April.

Yeah, I think that is the flu season, starting September and ending in March (I couldn't figure out the ending month :jest:). So anyone going through the medical from March to August should be fine! :D (it probably won't be me :jest:)

I added more questions :D

Do you know the link for Hep B vaccination requirement? as it does not appear in immigration visas (direct green card) either in any place that I checked.

This has vaccinations (is not only K1 but all immigrant visas) Hep B is not a requirement for people over the age of 18.

You know what I had it printed out somewhere and I think it was this https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/Print/PolicyManual-Volume8-PartB-Chapter9.html But it might not be for us, maybe I am just making it up :jest:Sorry for the scaring you though!

Here is the list of shots that may be required:  Note that some of these are only appropriate based on age, so they all may not be necessary in your case.

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diphtheria
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Rotavirus
  • Meningococcal disease
  • Varicella
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Seasonal influenza

Also it is important to realize that some shots are administered in sequences, with up to six months between each shot.  My understanding is that if the sequence is not complete before POE, the sequence may be finished in the US.  But generally, to do so in the US will be much more expensive.

Mumps, Measles, and Rubella is administered as a single shot (MMR), but requires a series of two shots, at least 4 weeks apart.  Most in first world countries have received these shots as a child.

Hepatitis A is a series of 2 shots, with at least six months between.

Hepatitis B is a series of 3 shots,  give one, and six months apart.

In Malaysia, we were given all these shots when we were in school. Some of them even when we were few months old. Do I still need to get them for the interview?

No no you're not scaring me :D

We actually had this discussion with Daniel before but couldn't figure out completely cause some people say there is, but I am yet to find evidence to that.

In here for example (same as the cdc website says) when you go to medical k1 or cr1 it doesn't matter the requirements are same and as cr1 directly gets GC, I don't understand why a requirement would be different on K1 and GC.

You need to prove it with either vaccination records or titer test.

Ok I found why it was complicated and confusing.

Hence I read this as a no it is not required unless medically told so.

This is the important part in that page

quote: "If the applicant has not received any of the listed vaccinations and the vaccinations are age appropriate and medically appropriate, the applicant has a Class A condition and is inadmissible. Generally, all age appropriate vaccine rows of the vaccination assessment must have at least one entry before the assessment can be considered to have been properly completed."

19 years through 49 years

Td or Tdap

MMR

Varicella

Influenza (during flu season only; Oct. 1 thru Mar. 31)

Also let's put the link again because it is asked a lot:

https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/Print/PolicyManual-Volume8-PartB-Chapter9.html

Hey all just a quick question as I am a little concerned...

Out visa got approved on the 4th of April but only on the new site, the old site still says received and my fiancée (petitioner) still hasn't got a text like she did for the NOA1.

Is this normal and is anyone else in the same boat?

Yep it is normal.

We used to call them silent noa2s because they don't appear in the apps/ scans. Congrats

I don't know how it works in Malaysia, but I just went to my GP, purchased the "International Certificate of Vaccination" and let them note all the vaccinations I have done. And I let them note every new one in the vaccination center as well. This is what I am going to be presenting at the medical exam.  It looks like a little notebook so it's nice to have the all in one place and written in latin (? :jest:) so any doctor can understand.

That is good to know! I wish there was just ONE freaking website summarizing ALL the requirements clearly 😂

Thanks Naes you too! This has cleared things up and I can rest now 😛

I hope the rest of you all get your NOA2'S so soon now too. Here is to a swift and quick time, hopefully we can be reunited with our loved ones again before we even know it.

Information is the hardest thing to get out of any of the agencies in these steps 🤷‍♀️

It’s compulsory and were given for free to everyone. I guess they will need to do a test then.
