As k1 is a non-immigrant visa with immigration intent they cancel all your old visas while giving it. So at the entry they will end up using that one.

So I just recently made an account on the new USCIS website. On the old website my received date is October 25 now the new website says October 27. Can someone inform me why would they add 2 days on to my original received date. I'm confused and a little upset.

The second one is not received date it is submitted date. Received date didn’t change.

Ish, I work as an international long haul cabin crew and I operate flights to the US every week. In terms of my notice period the airline still wants me to keep the remaining flying pattern up til my very last day. For example 2 San Diego, 1 Miami and 1 Seattle for my 4 week notice. But not sure how will this work if from the POE after the k1 I should not exit the states.

Well up till interview you won’t have a problem. But at the interview they will keep your passport and give it back to you after that. But yes you can’t be working as a cabin crew after your entry to US. I think k1 was a bad choice in your case.

Maybe giving your notice before you schedule your interview is the best idea as they will keep your passport. And leave by the time of your interview.

Very Risky but thanks for sharing your thoughts about this. Just gonna have to explore all avenues before the k1 comes.

Another thing I can add and I only saw this happen once.

ask the embassy when your visa is approved. Ask them if they can do the process after your shifts end. However again if it goes to administrative processing it will go after that and you may end up waiting but you can ask to keep your passport and give it to them later to get the visa. Again I saw this only once and I’m not even sure of the validity of that person as I didn’t know personally. But they had to have the passport so they asked if this was possible.

So the new website goes by the submitted date now?

Yes but it doesn’t really matter cause your date overall did not change. scans will go by your received date.

Submitted date is only required at this moment to show you when you when you can put an inquiry and when you are considered outside of processing times.

Mhmmm that's a good point! Maybe I can get British Airways to write a letter to make that possible. Just to clarify, when you mean process does it mean just stamping my passport with the visa? I wonder if that is possible. The problem is there is no way for me to contact the US embassy here in London I was thinking of asking my lawyer but yet again she probably won't know either as this is purely administration.

So that person finished the interview but didn’t leave the passport I believe they asked about t then. No guarantee this would be granted and I don’t know if an employers notice will actually help. I’m sorry I can’t even remember who it was because it was months ago. And this is still risky.

my personal advice still would be give notice in a way that your interview will come after that so you can actually get your passport and leave when it comes. I understand the risk of getting a denial and AP still stands but other possibility is also risky.
