NOA2 20 days ago - we received hard copy a few days later & have heard nothing since. my fiancé called the NVC and the lady said we are supposed to be expecting a second letter? but didn't tell us what that letter was and which one of us was going to get it?

I also received notice that they received my RFE yesterday. I'll be honest, I cried when i first received it in the mail because that is a further delay and we are all exhausted, but after I calmed down I remembered that is means the case finally sees the light of day.

i agree!! I didnt even know what they could have possibly wanted! I guess they have to RFE someone lol... I did as they asked and responded quickly... now i need them to hurry up with our approval so we can get this show on the road lol

I'm not sure about receiving letters, but when you call the NVC, they will tell you when it has been received and when you have a case number.  Those are the 2 important steps.  Once you have a case number you can track the progress online.

I haven't gotten a letter and I would advise not waiting for it since things get lost in the mail as well as it really slows down the process.

I got my NOA2 and I waited two weeks because I've seen a couple of persons post that they called within a week or so and their cases got sent back to the USCIS for reverification and such. I called on Monday in the day and my case wasn't there yet but when I called them at (603) 334-0700 last night around 8pm EST, the rep asked me some verification questions such as the names on the petition as well as DOB and then he confirmed that they received my case and he gave me the case number as well as the invoice number. He advised that when my case has left the NVC and is sent to my embassy I would be contacted via my email that I provided to him during our call.

Our case status just changed to request for additional evidence. We expected it because we didn't send the right divorce decree, we found that out when we had already send it. I hope it's only that. Atleast there is some movement for us.

Do you already have the correct one all ready to send to them? Get that out of the way in the meantime but that's good that they reviewed your case and probably that's the only thing left before your approval! :D

thats awesome - thanks for the info.

my fiancé is always super hesitant about calling frequently but i know that it's the only way to stay on top of it. especially since the lady on the phone he spoke to first time told him that we're expecting to be waiting "6 weeks".. so annoying

I know what you mean. I tried my best to avoid calling them for this whole process just because there's not much they can do or tell me plus I don't want them to put in their notes some bad stuff about me because I know I can be rude when I'm frustrated lol
