check ticket prices once a week (at least)

ticket prices depend on so  many things like holidays,  fuel prices, summer vacation times

we did one way as we found a good price

lilligo and cheapoair are good sites

beware that some airline sites look good but when you go to purchase (a round trip)  they have only quoted one way Price and the return is another fee (Air (Air France does this

also check prices of different airports in the US to land that are close to where you wnat like me it was cheaper to land in Ft Lauderdale than Miami for one trip

and be ware not to buy any ticket for the beneficary till that visa is in hand as you deal with a very difficult embassy that denies most K1 visas

the following site has the info on approed visas up till August of 2017 by embassy

We will get a round trip for immigrant, cancel return when we get to states, that seat will be sold to others or standbys, it's cheaper for round trip than one way, for him anyways

The type of visa determines if you need a round-trip ticket. If you have to go home you need a return ticket. If you're coming to live here I'd recommend just getting a one way. It's usually a little more expensive, but you don't have to worry about being questioned about why there's a return ticket, having to cancel it, or anything like that.

Only certain travelers require a return ticket. Many visas, even a tourist visa, require you to go home but do not require a return ticket. It helps to show that you intend to go home (coming to the US on only a one-way ticket and tourist visa looks suspicious), but is not actually required. Whereas, for instance, travelers using an ESTA are actually required to have a return ticket.

CBP won't question a RT ticket...they see this every day for immigrants and other travelers intending (and permitted) to reside within the US. I'd rather save the money (although one-way tickets have always been cheaper in my personal case...I live in a fairly remote area).
