N400 Application Error - submitted last week

hello,

my application was submitted. My husband said everything looked good and made some corrections and just submitted it. He rushed and did not appear to have checked it thoroughly.

These are errors:

1) For country of birth - he misread as residence and put United States instead of Japan

2)Trip to Japan in 2017 was accidentally omitted.

Since it has been only a week can errors be correctede?

I guess you will have to correct it during your N400 interview. Remember this is your application so you should have checked that everything was correct. Anyways it happens a lot.

The country of birth thing is pretty important.  If you were born in the US, you'd be a US citizen and wouldn't need to go through naturalization.  You're responsible for what's in your application, not your husband, so make sure you review the documents you submit yourself.

I submitted my application online and I can submit additional documents. I wrote a letter explaning where the error is and how I amended those on new form. I attached both and submit. Good ideal or no?

You can---- but additional evidence is not necessarily viewed by the IO (it even says that under the Additional documents tab before uploading).  I would just wait until the interview and correct the application in person....this way you also ensure the IO is aware of the correction.

They are minor corrections so don't sweat it too much---it's not like you forgot to mention you have a long and sordid criminal history. ;)

As for mistakenly omitting a trip abroad---I didn't even realize I had left out an entire week-long trip on my application until the IO at my interview brought it up.  I just completely forgot I'd taken it  years ago (and had no passport stamps to rely on for travel history since Canadians rarely get stamped, if ever).  Will not be an issue unless the length of the trip puts you over required physical presence limit.
