So the numbers are fudged for political gain, and we must believe everything the left wing mainstream media a.k.a. Jeff Bezos’s WaPo prints.  If you can refute the study than please do.

Lemme summarize for you.  You posted an article that doesn’t fit someone else’s agenda, ergo it must be fake news.  Now let’s move on...

The authors declare. How sweet. Would be interested to see how that stands up in court. No idea about the world of dentistry, but I personally know pharmaceutical companies fund such research in the medical world. Lots of grants.:jest:

Mysterious grants....

A peer reviewed article in a well known and recognized medical journal must be fake.

Okay so I have read some of the Journal of Pediatrics report... And of course it would show a decline. They have measured the levels of lead in children under the age of 5 under a 11 year period... Meaning they haven't followed one child from the beginning to end to see the long term effects of the lead poisoning... So yes, logic would say that it has decreased since they switched back from not using the water from the river. Because they're not being exposed to as much ####### as they used to. Now they just have to deal with whatever are normal for crappy US tap water.

"We conducted a retrospective study of BLLs from a population sample of children aged ≤5 years residing in Flint, Michigan, over an 11-year period from 2006 to 2016. Hurley Medical Center (HMC) contains the regional children's hospital and is the major single source that analyzes pediatric BLLs in Flint. In the medical center databases, 2006 is the earliest year available for analysis and allows for a decade-long examination of BLLs. The first full year following cessation of exposure to the Flint River water is 2016. All blood samples were collected at the medical center or sent to the institution from participating medical practices. Primary care doctors affiliated with this institution provide primary care clinical services for the majority of Medicaid-enrolled children in the region. BLLs associated with home addresses were obtained through the Epic EMR (Epic Systems Corporation, Verona, Wisconsin) for 2012-2016. Other databases were used to access BLLs at the medical center before 2012."

What would be interesting would be if they did a study on effects of children who were exposed to high levels of lead 10 years ago and see how they are doing today.

I don’t think the study is trying to minimize the issue in Flint with their government’s ill attempt to properly treat the Flint river water, but it is eye opening in that the levels have been progressively lowering over the years with two spikes (one unexplained and one presumably from the water fiasco).

Congrats.  I think you win...

In the world of dentistry we just make up BS stuff and keep telling our patients it's the truth until they believe it.

I am not saying it is. I am just pointing out it's flaws. Also it is based on blood samples and, as the study points out, it's impossible to know for sure how much of the lead levels are from water and how much is from lead that is in pipes, paint, food etc. But I don't think there is any study that is without flaws.
