Someone yesterday got a case number March 14. I am March 15 noncase number yet. Will call on Friday.

AHHHH JUST GOT OUR CASE NUMBER VIA EMAIL!!!! Was right on the verge of losing it today after calling NVC with no result. And then it appeared in my inbox! 10 weeks and 3 days today. Already logged in and paid the fees, it said payment should clear is 2-3 days. Let's see!

Did you give new email to NVC or they contacted you on old email which you give to uscis?

i went a bit over but figured better safe than sorry

 

1. petitioner 

- i-864

- passport

- employment letter

- 3 month pay stubs

- 2017 transcript

- 2016 tax transcript, w2 and tax return (amended and tax return had correct amount, transcript didnt)

- 2015 tax transcript, w2 and tax return (amended and tax return had correct amount, transcript didnt)

for above taxes, i stated why i was including it becauses  i amended and tax return had correct amount, transcript didnt

 

2. beneficiary

- for photo, had screenshot of text that said will provide passport photos at interview

- original marriage certificate in urdu and english translation of it in one file

- nadra marriage certificate

- passport

- police certificate

- birth certificate

something very stranged happend today. Called NVC to ask about the status of my case (NVC received case in March). Then, they asked my name etc and when I told them my petitioners name they said it is wrong....How is this suddenly possible? Then I called again and another person did not ask anything, just told me that it takes up to 8 weeks (usual answer). Do I have to worry?

My case received on March 19. Hoping to get case number by next week.

I dont know if it's true but before I was assigned a case number, they did not ask anything but once NVC generated a case number, they start asking everything including petitioner's name. At that time I didn't realize why they started asking for everything would mean something but then I realized once on their system, if you know your case number or not they start asking questions. 

It would be best if you asked again with your receipt number to make sure everything is correct. Most probably they would have got your receipt number wrong but it is always good to double check

I called today as well they didn't ask any details.  He just asks my name and my receipt number. And told me that it will take 8 weeks to get case number. I thought that was weird too. I will call them again on Friday as well.

I checked the status online said “at NVC” then I called and confirmed with NVC.
