I was just wondering if anyone could tell me:

1. Do I need to include my W2s if I'm using IRS tax transcripts? I've heard conflicting things..

2. As I've said before, we have all forms & fees completed, except for mailing our AOS/IV packet because we're still waiting on his new police certificate in the mail hopefully any day.. (at this point of already paying & waiting for the new police certificate, we figure we might as wel hang on and include the new one any day rather than send the old and have a chance of waiting longer if they do ask for a more recent one)

So, I was wondering if anyone has a guess of how long we may have to wait for a CC after I mail our packet? Considering they can't even review our DS-260 until they get our packet either, and assuming it takes 2-3 days to get to them in the mail.

Thank you for any thoughts on this..I'm so ready and it's really making my antsy that time is just wasting away when I could've had this mailed ahead of time if not for this agonizing wait for an additional police certificate we shouldn't have even needed..

Hi there -

I included the W2s in addition to the tax transcript, but I do not think it was required. I included just in case.

Your DS-260 must be complete before they will scan and review your documents. It took 2 business days for them to scan my documents and I got a CC (12April) in just 7 business days (Scan Date 03Apr). If everything is in order, they are completing the review pretty quickly right now.

Hope that helps!

Either for 2yr or 10yr green card? I am with for 10 yr because my marriage is over then 2 years for IR1 category. I will check USCIS online about it. Thanks a lot!

That's a good question! I've only heard of the one amount, $220...it's basically the fee for them to produce the card...but let us know if you see something different. We plan on waiting until just after our 2 year anniversary to enter.

If you are renewing your green card because it has expired or will expire within the next six months, USCIS requires you to pay a fee of $540 at the time of filing. The total fee includes a $455 application fee and an $85 biometrics fee.

I just searched for it, maybe you did as well by now

I think this is the fee for removal of conditions...when the 2 year green card is almost up. The initial fee you pay for the first green card (IR-1 or CR-1) is $220.

Normally how long does it take to get an interview after cc?

Depends on the embassy. They provide NVC with slots and NVC fills in the slots on a first come first serve basis. Cases completed before you (for that embassy) would be considered first.

So it's hard to give an exact timeline. Some have waited less than a month and other have waited a couple of months or more.

That would only be if she is already living in the U.S. & has a 2 year green card & it's about to expire & she needs to renew it. This is her first time entering the U.S. with a spousal visa...so the cost for the green card, whether it be IR-1 (10 years) or CR-1 (2 years) is $220.

Okay, thank you for your input! I just worried that us not being able to send our documents ahead of time might've caused a while of delay, but if the only delay it will be is how long it takes them to receive our mail..then it hopefully shouldn't be a significant difference in our wait..

Thanks again!
