Wau, bless your hearth. You have been waiting since Jan 10 ? (that is what your timeline says) That is excruciating!!!  I am waiting since Feb 1 and still no case number, some pivot cases got case numbers at 9, 10, 11 weeks now 12 with yours , I am almost at 11 weeks. Really NVC needs to be restructured, for future generations. It is so unfair for, I know that the pivot thing is exclusive to some embassies and that you get case complete faster ( winch right now does not matter) , but that has been going on for years now,  they should have made everyone equal on wait. .... I am so angry... i am trying to vent here ..... on top of it my beloved embassy is taking months to schedule interviews, I was really hoping to see my mother soon after 6 years, at this point I dont think I will be able to go to the interview. I hope everything turns around and things get better.  Anyways congratulations on your case number assignation!!! I hope you get an interview sooner than the average time.

Unfortunately, nobody gives a ####### how long you waited.

How long does it take for the embassy to receive your case after NVC sent it?

Does the status change from "In Transit" to something else?

Status on USCIS site changes to "Case Was Sent To The Department of State"... mine took 1 week after status changed for NVC to have received it, but I've seen people take longer.

On April 13th we received the interview email...today (the 17th) our status changed to "In Transit".

edited to say: sorry, I didn't answer your question! I'm not sure how long it takes or if the status changes, so if anyone else knows, please chime in!

is india pivot case country?

can anyone confirm?

all any estimate for the our case to get casenumber ,am from india, and my husband is USCitizen.

No India is not a pivot case country. It took me 5 weeks to get a case number from the date of receiving at NVC. Mine was Texas center so it took them 4 weeks to send the papers. So a total of 9 weeks since my case is approved at USICS.

hey from ur experience do they only send interview letters in end/beginning of month. since i got cc today and its mid month, should i expect to hear back in 1-2 weeks or they wont start scheduling till end of april or beginning of may for june interview. thanks!!!

Just wondering...did it showed the status as "submitted" for the documents for the week between submission and CC?  Or will it change in between?

Congratulations BTW!
