Ohh.. that waiting time  is killing!

9 weeks after nvc receiving the case or including the receiving time in it?

Our case will be in Islamabad embassy in Pakistan,so will it be pivot case or not-pivot?

I suppose the good thing to come out of this is that whoever you reach at NVC in future will already know your story so you can save on telling it again? I am sorry for laughing but it's just the way that you have written it that made it so funny!

I know, right? I hope this is the case too..on the bright side..they cant possibly ask me to do anything else...i have mailed the packages, uploaded the documents...the ball is back in their court now! lol

Hey...How come I never get to to talk to her?  She seems helpful....

I have talked to like at least 20 different people at NVC!

I am sure at the end of this and as we look back, this will be all a joke!

I keep getting her in the evenings- like after 8-ish! Its so bizzare when you speak to the same person, not once, not twice but four times! AND when they're nice too! lol

9 weeks from the date they received it. I'm not sure if Islamabad is pivot or not, but there are others on here with that embassy that can hopefully answer.

Is Leah a very kind elderly sounding woman? If so I have definitely talked to her before. She literally took half an hour when I called to see if they had assigned my case number. And went through the WHOLE PROCESS. She even told me get a note book and a pen I'll wait in line. And had me write everything she was telling me. And I'm glad I did it helped.

It MIGHT be! I believe she works in the evenings..even if it isn't..that is really great that there are some people who do that rather than others who don't even look at your case when you call them and it is so clear when they do that!

Islamabad is definitely a pivot case..they say that once you scan and submit everything online the review actually takes a less about of time..I don't know how true this is though...I would suggest you scan everything and make all the files under 2mb and be prepared for when it is time to submit all the documents and stuff

Just gave a call to NVC. They received the case on 29th of March. I'm really surprised as our NOA2 was approved on March 13th and we received NOA2 by mail on March 20th. No case number yet, but wasn't hoping. What I see here now gives me the impression I shouldn't even bother calling more before another 2-3 weeks passes.

8 weeks since NOA2, and 5 weeks since NVC received waiting for a case number.  Awesome to anticipate it'll be another 3-6 to get a stupid number after having waited 6 months for a piece of paper to show up in the mailbox.

Truthfully, I ought to stop stalking this thread for my own sanity, but it's the drug you can't kick and the process that makes you sick.

I've stopped calling. Not in a long time has something made me feel so depressed, hopeless, helpless and on some days, even suicidal. It's a great way to torture someone, put their life on hold for a year by throwing them into what's effectively a jail. Fire up the cheering squad woo.

I hear you. USCIS took 5 weeks to send it to NVC. Now 10 weeks tomorrow since NVC received it and still no case number. It’s depressing and probably the worst phase of my life so far but we can’t do anything. The only thing we can do is hope and try to be positive that this will be over soon.

called this morning and no case number yet.

10 weeks....

I’m sorry :( I don’t want to call tonight but I know I will.

GUYS!! Okay so I don't know if this is true or not (please confirm if anyone got the same story) but I was told when I called just now that I should be getting a case number by Friday Midnight!! Which would be 10 weeks since NVC received and one week from when it was placed "online". Got invoice number already so just waiting on the case number. I don't know if I fully believe this timeline but was shocked that I was given any kind of date or info because when I called yesterday she said she couldn't offer any additional info.

Anyone have insight?? Trying to stay hopeful & positive :)

It would be great if it’s true but don’t believe it till you get that case number. All different NVC reps say something different and it usually turns out to be inaccurate. Good luck!

How many days uscis texas service center take to send case to nvc?

They took 5 weeks to send my case to NVC but I’ve seen longer and shorter time frames.

9 weeks after they receive it. They will tell you when they received it which could be up to 2 weeks after uscis claims they sent it. Islamabad cases are all pivot.

Sorry, this is a dumb question, but what's a pivot case? How do I know if my case is pivot or not?

Thanks!

A pivot case is where you submit everything online. You scan all of the documents and just submit them online. Once NVC receives your case, they will tell you whether or not you’re CEAC (pivot). I think it depends on what embassy you’ll be interviewing at. I found out by calling NVC

yeah - so total false hope on my side. I called for a second time today and that particular rep wouldn't even tell me my case was "online" - just said that it is indeed at the NVC but haven't issued a case number yet, they are backed up, etc etc. I don't trust anyone anything they say anymore.
