I am thinking whether or not I need to be stronger in my conversations with them.

Maybe start practising speaking in a very firm voice :P I am checking here every day hoping to see that you have gotten your case number! It's taking way too long for you.

Thanks a Lot.

Its really heLpful link.

I hope NVC process will not be painful like uscis!!!

It depends on how you define 'painful'! It won't be in the sense that you won't go for months with no updates. But there will be a lot of calling, calling and calling. You have been warned!

I got the same feeling yesterday!

But since there is nothing we can do about it...stay positive n be ready to act when the next door opens...it will eventually open!

Trying to stay positive but it is so hard. 9 weeks, almost end of day 5 and still no case number. I just called and got the same story about how everything is in the system but they are doing the "final security check" and no one knows how long that is going to take :(

GOOD NEWS GUYS! I just got our case number when I called NVC and my husband had received the email this morning- he check after i told him that we have the case number! Waited for 10 long weeks!

NOA2: 13th Dec 2017

NVC Received: 30th January 2018

Case Number Assigned: 10th April 2018

Congratulations!! I hope the rest of the process runs smoothly for you! NVC received our case 2 day after yours. I want to be hopeful so I continue to call. I have almost been thinking of not calling and just waiting for the email. It's too depressing and frustrating.

I just called too and nothing. I have had the feeling of just give up and not call. It doesn’t seem to be not doing anything...yet, when another day comes, I can’t help but to try my luck.

Same here. I had decided not to call yesterday but can't help it so I ended up calling again tonight. It doesn't seem to be helping but I guess we have no choice but to remain positive and hope it'll be our turn soon.

So emailed my AOS and IV docs yesterday. Does anyone here have experience with emailing the documents rather than mailing? I am assuming I do not get a SD, or do I?

Good luck

I would assume that the day you email all of your documents to NVC is your SD. SD is basically the day they receive and enter all of your information in their system. In case of electronic submissions, that should be the very same day I assume.

Thanks! I'm trying to stay positive but some days it's just so hard. I think it's based on your embassy and whether or not they are participating in this electronic process.

Where are you from? I read a lot about people from different countries who are facing the same electronic process. All of them had to wait from 9 to 12 weeks to get their case number. It Is so fast after being given it. You and some other people told me that.

I applied for my husband. He is Pakistan. The general trend was 9 weeks and most people were getting their case numbers. Recently it has been even longer. And yes, overall it seems like it is fast after that but NVC seems to be approving cases within 2-3 weeks of receiving all the documents regardless of whether you submit online or send via snail mail.
