You will have to get used to the efficiencies (or lack thereof) of the US when u move....Singapore and Hong Kong are both so efficient....we are so spoiled! (I was just in Sing with the family during Chinese New Year...great place). You will have to learn to walk slower, be more patient at banks and any government agencies...

I know! I always fly CX and transit in Hong Kong and I have to say, I just LOVE everything. Never had a problem with the airline. Airport is always immaculate. Ironically, it is my desire for a slower pace of life that made me decide to move though :P I think that desire now has to match extreme patience. I know I not only need to walk slower, I also need to TALK slower. My American friends have complained about my speed of speech for the longest time. They just haven't had a chance to see me walk because we drive everywhere there. Lol!

Oh yes. I have a couple of Singaporean friends n they all talk very fast....I also want to slow down, but I guess the patience lesson will take time to master.

I just called the NVC and I was told that my case has been entered into the system but that a case number has not yet been generated. I was told it should happen this week. I did receive an invoice number from the agent. Is there anything I can do or do I have to continue to wait?

Same story for me when I called just now! Were you able to do anything with the invoice number?

No, it is the same case number and invoice number that you use. After you fill in your DS-261 (and pay AOS, if it is available), call them and have them review over the phone. Otherwise it might take a while for the IV fee to open up.

How long for IV fee payment after done paid AOS? Last week on Wednesday the 4th I submitted DS-261 and paid AOS same time. 2-3 business days has been passed for Thurs and Fri so now today is the new week. Any thought? Thanks!

Oops, actually paid the fees on the 23rd, so a day after the case was created.  That was a Friday so I believe it took until the 28th that the payment was cleared, then I submitted all of the forms and documents on the 29th (3-4 business days).  Trying to edit my OP but it's not letting me for some reason :)

I got an email stating our case has become 'Documentarily Qualified' (we're a pivot case) and stating that they are now working to make an appointment with our local embassy.  Also online (if you're pivot) it will say that your documentation has been 'Accepted'. Hope this helps :)
