I wrongly chose consulate that doesn’t conduct interview for Immigrant visa when I petition for I 130. NVC gave me case number and Invoice number with the wrong consulate code and when I tried to put in the website to choose Agent and pay fees, the below message pops up.

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.

When I called NVC, the representative told me to send an e-mail (ASKNvc) to change to another consulate which hold immigrant visa interview and I did accordingly. I don’t know how long this might take.

Anyone who had the same experience, Please Share!

I changed my consulate...at the time they were taking two weeks to respind to emails..I got another reply in 8 days...so anywhere between 8 days-14 days..you will get a reply with the new case number if you included all the information (name n dob of beneficiary + proof of nationality such as copy of passport etc ) and explain the situation

NOA2: 25 janvier

Same thing happened to me.. Yours must be a pivot case aka electronic processing... They changed the date to when they received the case in the pivot department

still no case number for me (pivot case with received date of January 31st; 9 weeks and 2 days now) but at least the person I talked to today was actually nice.

He said everything has been inputted and is in the line for case number since March 30th. I should be getting the case number by next week at the latest.

When  will this saga ever ends? Sometimes I just think I shouldn’t even bother calling....perhaps I will just wake up one morning with the case number in my email.

Same. I called last night and got the same story that I should get a case number soon. They can’t give me a time estimate. They have received tens of thousands of cases etc etc.

I have wondered the same thing too. Maybe I shouldn’t just call every day and put myself through this torture. Because 9 out of 10 times, I end up speaking with a highly insensitive and rude rep :( I really hope this will end soon.

And it is beeing 9 weeks and 5 days now.

But yesterday my husband called and they told, that case was approved (again?) and now they generate a case Number, the operator told to waite for an e-mail... But we will still try our luck and call next week   so was waiting 9, 5 month for Nebraska Approval, than 2 month and 10 days for NVC case number... Disaster

Hi

I'll be applying for reissue of passport with surname changed and adding spouse name to it. However in my ds application I didn't mention of any other name. Should I keep my current name and surname on passport or can I change it to new one? I just don't want to delay my process or want any issues during interview.

Did anyone have similar situation.

How do you know if your paperwork has been scanned onto the system? Is there anyway without calling them?

No unfortunately there is no way to know

However mine and many other people in this community have been getting scan dates in 2 -3 days after mail has been received by NVC.

Hello guys,

So my case is a pivot case and it starts with DMS, meaning I have to send the documents via email.

I read somewhere that I need to write down the case number on header of every page I scan and email, is that correct?
