you can upload it to ceac yourself and then ask him to review and submit? might make it less time consuming for him?

That's what I'm waiting for. For him to review and submit. His assistant told me she reviewed and is fine but she can't submit until he ok's it.

Can’t u jus change it and do it ur self?

I can but he's already paid for. And  hubby wants us to stay with lawyer. Every time I become impatient he quotes me a Persian quote "Let it come late, but let it come right".

I just wish he hurry with the review and submits already

I understand how u feel trust me :( maybe if ur husband was pushing him more he would have done it already. It’s not like the lawyer is doing it for free his getting paid.

This would drive me nuts! But I totally understand wanting peace of mind from a lawyer. Maybe your husband can call and say that you want it submitted this week because that gives you a chance of getting  a case complete before the next round of interview scheduling. And that you really want a June interview. You probably know more about this process than the lawyer does at this point...I wouldn't hesitate overpowering him & firmly saying "we're giving you a deadline of Friday to submit"!

I agree. Part of the reason for the delay is also because the lawyer took some time off for spring break. I spoke with the assistant yesterday and she said it will be sent this week...I just wish they hurry.

I think you can print out 260.

261 is the choice of agent. After you fill this out and submit it, you need to call NVC and ask them to review it over the phone.

plus, can you please fill out your timeline ;) this will help others see your progress and make estimates ;) sharing is caring!

Thanks a lot dear

I did give them a deadline for this week. My husband is so patient and he's the beneficiary. He tries hard not to stress me. But this process is so stressful. It really tests your patients.

When I spoke to the assistant yesterday she made it sound to me like there are so many delays with NVC that even if they submit this week my husband won't get an interview until Sept or October...I don't think she's right.

Oh man, I hope she's not right! I saw on your timeline that's he'll interview in Afghanistan. Have you tried searching on here to see how long it's taking people to get interviews? That doesn't seem right...and even if she is right, then all the more reason to send it ASAP!!

Hello everyone! :D

I am a US citizen living in Ireland with husband (Irish citizen).  I have 2 questions.

1. On March 17th our lawyer sent in the documents to the NVC and on March 22nd received an email from the NVC confirming that they received our documents. Would March 22nd  be the official SD?

2. Even though we have a lawyer handing this case. Would it be okay if I called the NVC to check on the case status or does it have to be our lawyer? I am the petitioner filing on behalf of my husband.

Any advise is greatly appreciated!! Best of luck to everyone on their NVC journey!

I've been informed by NVC over the phone mentioning 'they received my documents via mail on 03/31. However allow them to review for unto 6 weeks'. I'll be calling them in 3 days to check update on my case. By asking if my case have got scan date or not!

I would just call and confirm your scan date with NVC

Hopefully 03/22 is your scan date.. All the best :)
