that's the only website that won't let me pick US as the destination of receiving the payment. it would let me send from the us, but not to the us?!

To be safe, why don’t you just keep that money on you when you cross over. You can walk into any car lot on the same day you come and get a car if that helps

because we just got a really good deal and didn't even really look for it. someone we know needs to move and can't wait until i'm over there.

the car is worth a lot more but we'd be able to save about 4k... that's why i was checking on that

yeah i checked and the fee is 232 dollars  

even if i "trick" and send usd to usd, or change other things up. i even tried to split in 3 payments or such...

paypal seems not the cheapest, but fastest for sure

I use Transferwise, but obviously you don't need the money to the US very fast. Get a Cashier Check from your bank, and send it VIA postal mail. Might take 7-10 days, then another 5-7 to clear in your Fiancee's bank, but it will cost under 20 bucks total I would imagine depending on fee from your bank. To make it easier send it in US Dollars and should be no problem as it it under the 10,000 dollar limit if it gets checked.

I use transferwise all the time, have done well over 50 transactions in the past 2 years and never a problem.

It usually only takes 3-5 days. I have had it take as few as 3 if you send it early in the week. If you transfer the money straight from your bank account to transferwise that takes a day as long as you do it early or mid week, then they get it and transfer it to the receivers bank. You will get emails and updates all along the way. Below you can see my last transfer I sent on Sunday the 25th of March 2018, and it was in her account on the 28th of March, so three days.
