Help: How to remove Work Only condition from SS Card?

Hi Everyone,

How do I remove the "Valid for Work Only" condition from my SSN / SS card? Every form I've found is for changing name or type errors, but I haven't been able to find how to remove conditions.

Background: I received my SSN and card while I was adjusting status from a K1 Visa to my Green Card. I have since received my 10 year Green Card and am in the process of Naturalisation. My SSN card is marked as "Valid for work only". There has never been an issue in it being accepted, so I really haven't had to think about it. We've not applied for anything that required an updated card until now. My bank is saying they require an updated one.

You need to go to your local SSN office (with your current valid GC and probably your driver license ID) and ask them to make a new card with that wording removed. I did it that way when I got my GC.

You have to go to the SS office, and ask for a new card. It will be the same number, but it won't have that annotation on it.  They will want to see you Green Card most likely. I went in after AOS and had it removed.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Awesome! Thank you so much! Is it issued on the spot, or the usual, "We'll mail it to in 7 to 1 million business days"?

I received it in the mail a couple weeks later (of course me counting the days like a prisoner). LOL  Unfortunately they don't work that fast.

Thank you again, everyone! After the fun 2 hour long wait with two little children at my local Social Security office, the whole process took 5 mins. They just wanted my SS card, to see my Green Card and for me to fill in the replacement SS card application form, which they had plenty of in the office waiting area. The new card should hopefully be here in about a week or so.
