Hello guys! How are you? I hope everyone is ok. I really need some help right now about my DS-260/IV application online on NVC website. My husband is stationed in Germany because he is an Active Duty Military in U.S. Army and his address is:

CMR 000 BOX 000

City: APO

State: AE

Zip Code: 00000

the problem is we are filling the DS-260 online (IV application) and the part on FAMILY INFORMATION: SPOUSE, it asks for his address like this.

Spouse's address: (it gives me some options which are)

- Same as present address

- Same as intended U.S. address

- Don't know

- Other (specify address)

When I choose to put "other (specify address)", it asks for us to fill the address but there is an warning saying "P.O. box numbers are not allowed". (You guys will see on the image below). So we don't know what to do at this point. We are feeling really lost right now. What are we suppose to do?

OBS: Also our intended U.S. address (Where the applicant will go after arrival) that we answered back on the form is our friend's address because we don't have a place there YET. The thing is...my husband is done about his duty station there but his commander didn't answer him yet to get everything done and he moves. So right now he is in Germany waiting his commander answer if he will go or he will stay there for one more year (this confusion was cause between his old unit and the actual unit).

An APO is not a PO box at all. It is a verified address so just use that.

If ds-260 doesn't allow you to type down CMR address, you should use his physical German address in the forms. And what comes to his domicile, he should put down his home of record, or the address of his next assignment. For the visa purposes, you need to have a physical German address anyway, because you'll receive your package from the consulate in that address. German postal service can't deliver mail to CMR anyway.

Hey @Hattivatti thank you very much for answer! Well, he lives in barracks so his only address is like this. Since USCIS he always filled the forms with this address including his I-864. This weekend we found out that the DS-260 doesn't allow us to put CMR address. Also, my question is...after we submit the AOS documents (Petitioner's documents) and IV application form with my documents (beneficiary)...we will receive something by mail before they schedule our interview?

Even barracks actually should have physical address (people order there from European webstorea all the time), most likely he'll find the physical address from his housing papers or can call to housing and ask. But, since he's living on barracks, you must have German address and you should be able to use that. And if you don't have physical German address, you should be able to do "in care of" co/ address to your friend, family or work address.

But Frankfurt consulate and USCIS do answer quickly to the questions emailed or you can always call there too. There's also a USCIS military help line, to which he can call from dns line and get quickly accurate (usually) answers.

Well, he already checked that and he doesn't have physical address in fact. Well, even we are at NVC phase, can we call to the USCIS? The process is at NVC. Also between the options, we can't to put "in care of". :(

On the letter you received from the consulate was instructions. At least on mine it states:

DOCUMENT DELIVERY ADDRESS: Prior to your interview, you must provide an address where you want your visa package to be
delivered after issuance. Our Visa Service Provider will arrange that the visa package be delivered by the Deutsche Post free of charge.
In order to prepare this, please visit www.ustraveldocs.com/de to register and create ONE profile only. You will need your Immigrant
Case Number (FRN#) to register and enter your document delivery address. Do not enter a P.O Box, APO, DPO, or a non-German
CIVILIAN Address although the registration screen may allow you to do so. The Deutsche Post cannot deliver inside U.S. bases; U.S.
military applicants must provide a civilian address in Germany. Please ensure that the visa recipient’s name (or the care/of name)
matches the name on the mail box.
Please remember to include a copy of your registration confirmation page with the other
documents that you send to the Consulate before your interview. Note: Fiancé and K visa applicants need to submit their
appointment confirmation at the time of the visa interview instead of the registration confirmation. Further information on
document delivery is available at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/de/de-iv-documentdelivery.asp.
